Kate & Mark
Kate and Mark wanted nothing more for their wedding than for it to be about relaxation and their relaxing Uluwatu destination wedding was captured by PhotoFactory Bali. A day that was spent in the sunshine, with their favourite people and a lot of love.
On how they met, Kate tells, “Mark and I met working on a research vessel off the coast of Japan. Filming a documentary about the Giant Squid! – When and how did sparks fly? Jugs of Gin and Tonic at a karaoke bar in Yokahama. The rest they say is history – How was the proposal and who proposed? – Mark proposed in the Tanonga eco lodges near our home town on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. He had the ring made but was holding off as my brother had just got engaged, he waited a few weeks for our little weekend trip away. We were in front of the fire enjoying a glass of red and he quickly ran outside to call my Dad for permission before he proposed!”
Kate and Mark chose Mick’s Place for their wedding Kate noting, “We chose Bali, and the Bukit area as we felt we wanted a high emphasis on RELAXATION and a memorable holiday for our guests. We wanted Bali vibes without the hustle and bustle of further North. So we chose Bingin Beach as we just love that area.”
Kate chose a delicately beaded gown from Jenny Packham and paired it with a flower crown.
Kate chose not to have bridesmaids, instead she invited some of her closest friends to be with her when she got ready.
The couple met before the ceremony for a first look.
Kate remarks, “The day wouldn’t have been what it was without our family and friends that traveled over. Mark’s sisters surprise arrival from the U.K was such a highlight. Everyone made an effort to be there and we are forever grateful for that. What a such an amazing combination of people from all over the world. Many new friendships were made amongst the collaboration. What more could you ask for really!! ”
Kate recalls, “I walked down the aisle to “Somewhere over the rainbow”, the Israel Kamakawiwo’ole version. played on a Guitar-lele by Mike and sung by Kat, they also played “Budapest” by George Ezra after the ceremony.”
Of their photographer, Kate says, “We finally got home at the morning and watched our video. We were both speechless for quite sometime after! All the photos are magnificent, the albums are absolutely stunning and the video is something that will treasure for the rest of our lives. We will recommend PhotoFactory to anyone heading to Bali.”
Kate remembers, “The crowd was treated to an acoustic version of “Lost in my mind” by the Head and the Heart, played by Derek and accompanied by the bride on a tambourine after dinner!”
Congratulations Kate & Mark! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to PhotoFactory Bali for sharing today’s wedding with us!
