Sundance Mountain Resort, where you can have your cake and eat it too. Ok, so maybe you can have your wedding and a holiday too. If you haven’t noticed yet I love to travel and destinations that involve stunning snowcapped mountains, majestic towering pine trees, cascading waterfalls, quaint ponds and the opportunity for me to strap on my snowboard amongst all off this and I am sold!

Sundance Mountain Resort is my kind of heaven. But there is a catch to this amazing location, as you may have noticed Australia doesn’t have such beautiful alpine areas. Sundance is located in Utah, America. Now a destination wedding can be a little elaborate but if you see this as not only a destination wedding but a holiday or honeymoon and just a general awesome experience it doesn’t seem like such a crazy idea.

This resort can cater to couples who are after either a quaint ceremony to an extravagant weekend long wedding. Whichever you choose you and your guests will not grow bored. This unique mountain destination has an array of ceremony and reception areas, with the choice of spaces ranging from a 4200 square foot opulent hall to a delightful 800 square foot log cabin. All buildings were designed to reflect the cloistered beauty of its natural setting. If an indoor wedding isn’t for you they also offer beautiful outdoor ceremonies, picture perfect snow covered mountains framed by awe-inspiring pines.

If like me, you believe food is an extremely important part of any celebration then you will be thrilled to know Sundance offers custom catering by an award-winning chef to keep everyone satisfied on your day. You can checkout sample menus here.

Want something to do before or after your big day? The resort offers guests an array of activities whether it be Winter or Summer. From snowboarding/skiing, fly fishing and snowshoeing in the Winter to scenic lift rides, horseback riding, mountain biking or hiking in the Summer there is bound to be something for everyone. Not to mention an art studio where you can learn the fine skill of jewellery making, wheel-thrown pottery, watercolour, acrylic or oil painting, printmaking, photography or drawing.

Now I know this is your wedding so I completely understand if you would prefer to be wined, dined and pampered and the Sundance nature inspired eco-spa can cater to your every need. Whether you need a quick wax, a pre or post-wedding mani or pedi, a facial treatment, or just want to be pampered for 240 min straight this spa will leave you feeling rejuvenated.

The resort offers a number of different accommodation options ranging from rooms and suites to large mountain homes. Whichever you fancy you can be sure that you will have the utmost privacy as all cabins and homes have been discreetly tucked into the mountainside just above the Sundance Village. Staying true to the resort’s rustic and natural setting the cabins and homes integrate with the mountainous environment. Warm tones, Native American accents and stunning wood-work all combine to create a luxurious rustic warmth.

Recognised among the top resort destinations in the world and in such a stunning setting I can’t think of a better place to spend my big day.
