Happy Monday Dotties! I know most of the country is in long weekend mode, but that also means it’s the perfect time for a little wedding planning. We have plenty of psots for you today to help you out!
Before beginning our week of happy wedding inspiration it’s time to highlight, spotlight and show off the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory. We have Catering, we have Celebrants, we have Bridal Gowns, we even have Styling and Hire! We work really hard to get vendors on board who are lovely – vendors who want to help you plan, source lovely things and photograph your wedding to give you the best memories of your day.
Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!
What do you do when you have a graphic design qualification and love weddings? Well, design wedding stationery of course! Can’t quite decide on the colour or design of your wedding stationery? Elly of Elly Hartley Designs designs custom stationery suites to bring your ideas to life, or you can choose from dots, watercolours or striking floral designs from her ready made suites.
We asked Elly of Elly Hartley Designs five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
Brookvale Union Ginger Beer… I’ve turned into my mother (and that is not a bad thing, she’s the best human I know..) but she also loves a good ginger beer!
Your favourite weekend getaway?
Definitely the Sunshine Coast.. it has it all! Hinterland, the beach and so many of my favourite wedding venues. It’s kind of like an island getaway without the ridiculous air fares! (Hello Qantas, if you’re reading this and feel like sponsoring someone…)
The Spaghetti House or Indimex (both on Brisbane’s southside). I had a heart attack when someone told me The Spaghetti House CLOSED but they’re not closed! They’re simply moving, no idea where to, hopefully right next door to my house.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
I can’t ever go past a good eggs “benny” with mushrooms and haloumi. I would eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I’m also probably the world’s most average cook (though I make a mean quiche and an even better brownie) and have never even attempted to make it myself, but everyone knows that everything tastes better when someone else cooks it 😉
Your favourite wedding story?
I used to work with a girl and she told me about a wedding she’d had some friends attend. Apparently the bride was the most extreme bridezilla anyone had ever come across, she made the bridal party show up 3 days prior to the wedding so they could literally create her entire wedding. The bridal party had no idea what they were in for. The guys even had to go to Bunnings to buy wooden planks for the dance floor that they had to build from scratch. There are so many things from that wedding that are just too hilarious, if you didn’t know it was true you’d never believe it.
