Planning a UK honeymoon getaway and fancy a quirky, yet uber chic hotel stay? Be sure to pop London on to your itinerary. Where to stay? Ham Yard Hotel. Whilst the name is rather odd, the hotel is far from it. Featuring a drawing room, library, spa, gym, theatre, Sunday cinema and a wait for it … a 1950’s style bowling alley! Yes a 50’s inspired bowling alley, you can’t get much cooler than that! As well as a gorgeous rooftop garden that has sweeping views of the Soho skyline, what more you could you ask for?

The hotel revolves around a tree-filled garden, with a bronze sculpture centrepiece. Ham Yard boasts 91 individually designed bedrooms and suites, as well as 24 apartments for those lovebirds after a little more space. My favourite being the ever so gorgeous and quirky Terrace Suite. All suites are light and airy with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the tree-lined garden, oak flooring throughout and a marble bathroom, this suite is fit for a queen. You can make it that little more special with a suite package. This includes arrival and departure transfers, an unpacking service, fresh flowers daily, champagne on arrival, kitchen hamper and a daily English style breakfast  – and this is just to name a few of the delights this package has to offer!

Once you are both all settled in why not book a spa treatment? I am not sure about you ladies, but a honeymoon isn’t a honeymoon without a bit of pampering is it? The hotel’s Soholistic Spa offers guests a range of delightful indulgences, and it will be deserved after such a long flight! Think facial therapies, body scrubs, massage treatments and everything in between. You and your love will come out feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.

Now after all the pampering you have surely worked up an appetite, so why not wander on down to the hotel’s ever so eclectic drawing room and have a sweet or savoury (I’ll have both thanks!) afternoon tea. Not in the mood for tea? The menu offers a range of Champagne to complement your afternoon delight, it is a celebration after all! Please note, bookings are to be made in advance.

After an afternoon and evening of pampering and scrumptious food, you’ll wake in the morning ready to explore all that London has to offer and Ham Yard is in the perfect location to get out and sightsee on foot. Located in the heart of theatreland, where live shows, musicals, plays and concerts are plentiful and surrounded by Soho’s trendy cafes, bars and shops, there is plenty to sip, see and eat. If you would like to do a spot of high-end shopping, Mayfair is just a block away and features some of the worlds best luxury stores. While London’s world-class attractions such as Madame Tussauds, the London Eye and the Natural History Museum are not far away, you certainly won’t run out of things to see or do during your stay.
