I can hardly believe it is only a few days before we farewell 2015! What a year it has been! Today we are revising a little tradition we have with a look back at Polka Dot Bride 2015 (See our previous years 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011 )

It’s been a big year on Polka Dot Bride and I can’t say goodbye to it without a little reflection. There have been thousands of photos shared,  so many beautiful gowns, stunning bouquets, candid engagements and of course, my favourite part- hundreds of stories. Today I’m rounding up just a peek at what you loved the most.

When it comes to stunning gowns of the year, it’s no surprise the beautiful cape Ruth wore in Ruth & Jordan’s Chic Town Hall Wedding made the list, and positively swept you away into a land of the superhero bride.

The idea of marrying on a rooftop is so very romantic, so its no wonder you loved Ellen and Adam’s Romantic Rooftop Wedding. It, of course helped that Ellen wore a gorgeous pink gown, but that, like every wedding on Polka Dot Bride is just the beginning.

What happens when you get married at a favourite local cafe? We had a sneak peek with Angela and Simon’s Formal Cafe Wedding. Add feathers, a tuxedo and you’ve got one amazing party!

There is nothing like a wedding at home, and when your parents own a farm it’s kind of perfect. You fell in love with Rochelle & AJ’s Chic At Home Wedding in all it’s country glory.

When it comes to magic, it’s the unexpected that turns something beautiful into something just a little bit unforgettable. This city laneway turned wedding chapel in Claire & Trent’s City Laneway Wedding into a post you loved, pinned and shared endlessly this year.

Speaking of unexpected spaces, it seems you were pretty smitten with the idea of marrying in an air hangar too. How could you not be when Rachel and Simon’s Chic Air Hangar Wedding pulled it off in such a stunning way?

Autumn-Butterland-Wedding0003-550x755

Since Autumn is my favourite season, I’m a little thrilled Beatrice & Steve’s Autumn Butterland Wedding made your favourites. And how could it not with those amazing Autumn colours used throughout the reception?

No matter what anyone says, I believe classic never goes out of style. Chic and stylish this beautiful Jackie & Mark’s Classic White Carousel Wedding was such an incredible wedding to share and certainly one of your highlights.

modern-warehouse-wedding0033-550x367

Industrial was certainly a hit this year and the glam industrial vibe of Katie & Andrew’s Modern Warehouse Wedding really set the tone. I love that a warehouse space can be whatever you want it to be and with a sparkling, modern crystal backdrop it was pretty magical for Katie and Andrew.

When your guests surprise you with a flash mob, marrying on a hot Summer’s day may just be the best thing ever. But the goodness of Kristy & Scott’s Relaxed Mornington Peninsula Wedding didn’t stop there. The hilarious first dance also ranking on my highlight list.

beautiful-winter-wedding0044-550x367

When you see how stunning Claire & Shane’s Beautiful Winter Wedding was, it’s no wonder I am championing colder weather weddings. Can you think of a more cosy space to say your I Do’s in? And we haven’t even talked about the fairy lights, and cheese tower or soft faux fur stoles.

And finally, because we could make this post a thousand times longer than it is, I’m finishing up with Carina and Nick’s White Tie Teepee Country Wedding. A country wedding is so often casual and relaxed and I loved that Carina and Nick made theirs a white tie occasion. From the stunning floral arrangements, the bride’s vintage inspired  gown and the gorgeously decorated tipis, it’s no wonder this celebration was a love of yours.

So there is just a taste of what you loved the most this year overall. Tell me Dotties, what was your favourite post of 2015? What would you like to see in 2016?
