Donna & Sergio
Give me an emerald green sequin dress and I’m a happy camper, but give me an emerald green sequin dress, glammed up formal engagement photos and a romantic love story? I’m totally yours! This engagement shoot of Donna and Sergio delivered on all fronts thanks to We Are Origami Photography.
Donna tells the story of how they met. “The first time we met was on a plane, when he offered me his window seat as I was eagerly waiting for the flight to take off. It was a long flight so we spent the entire time discussing anything and everything. I felt there was a kindness in him, and I knew at that moment that I wanted to always know him.
At the end of our flight we exchanged phone numbers and went our separate ways. We stayed in contact after our holidays and it turned out that we worked five minutes away from one another in the CBD. We had lunch together almost everyday and our relationship grew as we found out we had more and more in common.
We have been inseparable ever since…we have grown together over the last 4 years and we feel so blessed to have met each other.”
On what he loves about Donna, Sergio tells, “I love Donna’s passion for her hobbies and interests, and the way I can’t imagine a day without her in my life.”
On what she loves about Sergio, Donna remarks, “I love the way Sergio supports and inspires me to be more than I am, and how he sparks my creativity and imagination – oh and how he always manages to make me smile.”
The romantic proposal went a little something like this. “Sergio organised a surprise weekend getaway to the beautiful and scenic Blue Mountains, where we had our first date. After an amazing day and relaxed dinner, we entered into our hotel room where Sergio had organised a room lit up with fairy lights and candles. He nervously got down on one knee and proposed and he made me the happiest girl in the world!”
Donna and Sergio tell, “We wanted to take this opportunity to have loads of fun dressing up and playing around a little more with our wardrobes, something different from our everyday casual happy snaps.
The words ‘glamorous’, ‘seductive’, ‘fun’ and ‘enchanted’, came to mind. We also wanted to incorporate as many little DIY details as possible into our engagement session to make it as personal as we could. Such as the two tiered cake that we had made and decorated, the wild, unstructured flower bouquet that we had put together that morning to reflect Donna’s mother’s favourite colour, and the enchanted mood we created with the candles and fairy lights to remind us of the magical feelings on the night of the proposal.
We couldn’t have been happier, we just love the look of being outside and taking in the gorgeous surroundings.”
