When Australian designer Georgia Young dropped her latest collection “Salt” quietly this month, I knew it would be something special.
Inspired by the rugged beauty of the seaside, Georgia created a collection that captures the “unyielding yet tranquil” moodiness of the ocean.
Tones of pale pinks, oysters and whites reflect the spectacular sunsets, while the draping of laces and free-flowing silks embody the tantalizing drama of the water and the moodiness of the surroundings. Fabric is twisted and turned, draped and caught like waves in the wind, silhouettes flow and billow, lines are dramatic and then turn to softly emphasizing the wearers figure.
Each gown, crafted in Georgia’s Fitzroy showroom, is crafted to the finest couture techniques. The craft of couture considered just as important as the beautiful design.
The “Salt” Autumn Winter 2016 Collection is available by appointment only from the Georgia Young Fitzroy boutique.
