I love a beautiful cocktail as much as the next person; there is always something visually spectacular as a bartender makes your drink with love. However, when I am at home I prefer something a little easier that isn’t going to take me away from guests for too long.  So for this Cocktail Friday, thyme infused gin and blood orange fizz is one of my go to recipes!

All you will need is:

  • Fresh thyme
  • Your favourite Gin
  • Blood Orange Soda, (I use Schweppes Agrum)
  • Soda Water (as desired)

I promise it is super easy! All I do is muddle the thyme then add the Gin. (Tip: If you have time to prepare this in advance, make in a pitcher and leave in the refrigerator overnight. You will end up with a stronger flavour.)

Then to serve, place ice in each serving glass (champagne saucers work well!) Pour over infused gin and top each with the blood orange soda. On a personal note, I prefer a drink that is on the tart side so I add a little blood orange soda and then top with soda water. Garnish with fresh thyme and enjoy!
