I am so excited to share with you this relaxed and romantic makeup look from our Beachside Valentines Day Inspiration shoot. Real bride Kathleen (along with her fiance Nick) modeled for us and it was so fun to treat them to a bit of pampering and luscious feast!
Today we’ve worked with hair & makeup artist Tia from Artistry Co , along with stylist Katherine Eleyce (Ms Filigree) for Polka Dot Bride and photographer Welsch Photography at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel to create a relaxed romantic makeup tutorial for you to use on your next special occasion.
Today, Tia from Artistry Co shares her step by step instructions (including our beauty toolbox with every product used) to help you recreate this look for yourself!
We wanted a light and natural look with some extra coverage over areas that needed it. So we chose the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC Cream (Available at Sephora) and buffed it into the skin with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. For areas that needed a little extra coverage we added Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm Makeup Cream Foundation in Vanilla Shell 02.
To cover dark circles, imperfections and lift the under eye area, we used the Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer in Light #10 (Available at Priceline). The doe foot applicator allows for pin point concealing but also makes it easier to cover larger areas such as under the eye. Work it into the skin using the warmth of your finger.
Next, we want to add warmth to the cheeks, so we chose Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Radiance Blush in Sunblush (a true pink) and blended it into the cheeks followed by the Ellie Makeup Pressed Blush Bronzer Duo Glow in Dusk for a natural blush look.
To highlight and add dimension to the face, the old favourite warm, peach toned highlighter M.A.C Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle stepped in. Dust this across the high cheek points, down the nose, the tip of the nose, the cupid’s bow and the temples.
Next, we’re onto eyes and used the IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette (Available at Sephora) for our relaxed romantic look. Using the pinky taupe shade Romance, buff the eye shadow gently over the entire lid.
Using the darker chocolate tone of Embrace from the same palette, work this into the outer corner of the eye and the outer edge of the crease. Blend it and define the inner crease with the nude Peaceful shade.
We want lush lashes for this look, so started off by priming the lashes with IT Cosmetics Tightline® Full Lash Length Black Mascara Primer (Available at Sephora).
Finish the lashes with IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes® 5-IN-1 Mascara (Available at Sephora). Work the wand thoroughly from root to tip, applying an extra coat or two on the tips of the lashes for added drama.
For a natural lip look, start off by lining the lips with a nude natural shade like with Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Precision Glide Lip Liner in Natural #06.
For this look, we mixed Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color Lipstick in Brazen Beige (Available at Priceline) and Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color Lipstick in Sultry Sand (Available at Priceline) and worked these into the lips for a nude, natural pink lip tone.
