Wolgan Valley Resort Elopement

Eve and James couldn’t decide on their guest list and instead, they made the ultimate decision – an elopement with only their baby boy present. Their beautiful, intimate celebration captured in all of its glory by Fiona + Bobby.

Eve tells the story of how they met. “We met through mutual friends and kept running in to each other at dinner parties and nights out. We clicked quite quickly and would find ourselves sitting and talking all night, ignoring everyone else! Eventually, we made it out on a date and haven’t been apart since.”

Eve chose a simple dress from We Are Kindred , remarking, “It is the Luella dress by Australian designers, We Are Kindred. I wanted something simple, non-traditional and with a modern, yet vintage feel to it (if that makes sense). I also needed something that would keep me a little warmer than your typical bridal gown in the cool August weather.”

Emirates One & Only Wolgan Valley Resort was chosen as the venue, Eve noting, “The ceremony was held in the grounds of the 1832 Homestead at Wolgan Valley Resort. We later had a private dinner in our villa.”

The bride walked down the aisle to “Just the sound of our baby son giggling and gurgling.”

Kris Rose officiated the ceremony, Eve remembering, “Our celebrant spoke a little about how me met, our love of travel and the arrival of our little boy. But other than that, it was short and sweet.”

The most special part was that it was just the two of us with our son. We are close to our families and friends but did not want a traditional wedding and found it impossible to exclude anyone from a potential guest list. We decided it was all guests or no guests and ultimately went with the latter.”

“It was at an incredible location with staff that went out of their way to make the day special.”

Of their photographers, Eve remembers, “They were amazing. Attentive, caring and a couple who take so much pride in their work. They stayed well after their booked time (without us asking) to make sure they got the best shots. The results speak for themselves.”
