The Kimberley El Questro

If a relaxed getaway is on your honeymoon list be sure to check out El Questro. El Questro is located within the Kimberly Region in Western Australia and extends to one million acres most of which has been left unexplored. What used to be an old cattle station has now been turned into a variety of accommodation styles to suit your travel desires.

Finding a place to stay while you explore what the region has to offer won’t be a problem. There are four accommodation styles to fit your needs: The Homestead, Emma Gorge Resort, The Station and Camping at El Questro.

The Homestead El Questro

The Homestead offers a comfortable retreat with views of the Chamberlain Gorge. Although the resort is situated in the outback the rooms offer complete luxury. With a range of options the room comes not only with a magnificent view but with a personalised itinerary to keep you entertained whilst on your stay.

The Homestead offers privacy amongst the vast wilderness which can be enjoyed from your private balcony. You can even rent out the resort for your wedding ceremony and share your experience with 17 of your loved ones. As a guest of The Homestead you will receive exclusive use of the Zebedee thermal springs keeping you relaxed throughout your stay.

To be a little closer to the action you can stay at The Station. The Station is located right by The Steakhouse restaurant which is known for their barramundi and Australian beef. Also situated by The Station is a bar to keep you entertained. The rooms are located on the Pentecost River and only a short walk away is a swimming hole to keep you cool in the warmer months.

You won’t be short of things to do at El Questro – you can book in for activities most of which depart from The Station.

Some ‘must do’s’ at El Questro include trekking via horseback, barramundi fishing, bush walking, and if you’re up for it, a helicopter ride to take in the beauty of the region from above. See if you can spot a crocodile on a cruise through the Chamberlain Gorge or take a bird watching tour and see how many species you can find. The helpful staff at El Questro can help you to organise a full itinerary with plenty of things to see and do, if the sights alone aren’t enough to catch your attention.
