Chic Bali Destination Wedding049

Tina & Wayne

There is nothing quite like the party atmosphere of a destination wedding and when Tina and Wayne chose a chic Bali destination wedding for their special day, they made sure it was nothing less than the party of the year. Milque Photography and Films were there to capture the day!

Tina tells the story of how she and Wayne came to be. “Interestingly our two sons went to school together on the Gold Coast where my son and I lived. After holidaying together in Bali, with my now new husband, they wanted us to meet. We started taking over the phone whilst the boys were in Bali and continued to chat for 5 months before Wayne (my husband) flew back to the Gold Coast to take me out for lunch and meet me for the first time!”

The bride chose a gown by Justin Alexander, noting, “Inspired by old world Hollywood actress screen siren – A-line, cream Alençon sheer lace embellished neckline, cream satin fitted and gathered bodice, embroidered chiffon floor length gown with court length lace beaded train…”

Florette Bali  styled the wedding and floral arrangements for the day, Tina noting, “I had a Swarovski crystal and fresh flower chandelier made to hang over our ceremony walkway.”

The bride remembers, “We did something a little different and had our guests walk down the aisle to us – where we were standing on a glass stage in the pool so it looked like we were floating – our song was the acoustic version with violin, Sam Smith, Latch.”

Of their ceremony, Tina remembers, “We wanted romance with bit of humor, I have a good friend who is a celebrant however could not marry us as Bali has strict rules on legal marriages so I got her to do a reading for us that I designed myself – it was so beautiful.”

Of their photographers, Tina remembers, “We had the best in Australia “Milque Photography and Films”. We flew the technician over from QLD and she also attended our festivities for the evening! She really took the time to find out what we wanted.”

Tina and Wayne chose Batujimbar Estate for their wedding, noting, “We chose a private villa on the beach overlooking the ocean and Mt Agung. It had 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms. It had Balinese contemporary pavilion style dining by the pool, outdoor bales for entertaining – we stayed as a family for 3 days in the lead up to the wedding.”

Tina says, “So much made it special. The fact that I waited so long for “the one” My family all staying together in our private villa so we could all bond before the wedding. Our friends taking time out from their busy lives, flying all the way from Australia to watch us exchange our vows. My brother being our MC and the speech he made for us… My son playing a special song on acoustic guitar for me during dinner.”

“We wanted to stray away from tradition – so we decided not to have a first dance. Instead we danced the night away with our guests until 4am!”

Congratulations Tina and Wayne! Thank you for sharing the stories of your day with us! Thank you also to Milque Photography and Films for sharing today’s celebration!
