Spiked Amarula Hot Chocolate Cocktail

When Winter cold surrounds us, there is nothing better than curling up inside with a mug of delicious hot chocolate and for a wedding – what better way to warm up the cockles of your guests’ hearts than by serving up bountiful mugs of this deliciously smooth liquid?

After discovering the fruity flavour of Amarula, we devised a recipe to add this to our own “winter warmer’s list” for a decadent spiked – and grown up – hot chocolate!

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 60ml Amarula Cream Liqueur
  • Whipped cream
  • Shaved chocolate

Method:

In an ovenproof bowl over a saucepan of water, melt chocolate chips with milk and vanilla bean paste, whisking to remove lumps and create a smooth liquid consistency.

Take off the stove and add Amarula.

Pour into mug and top with whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
