Jess & Aidan
I love the modern glamour to Jess and Aidan’s modern Lindenderry at Red Hill wedding. Making the most of the beautiful winery setting, the couple wed amongst the vineyards before celebrating all night long at an all in one venue allowing guests to really enjoy the day and truly relax! They worked with Shelley Price to capture their memories.
Jess and Aidan met while they were both exploring Europe, the bride remembering, “We were both working in London at the time. Aiden was managing a gym and I was a member there. As we were both Australian, we got along straight away and always had something to talk about. After a few months, I decided that I’d ask him out for a drink to which he said yes. Our time in London saw us travel around Europe together and visit places like Greece, Malta and France. As our visas started to expire, I was given the option to stay in London. It was Aiden or London and I’m glad to say that Aiden won in the end.”
Jess chose a strapless gown with beaded bodice from Rachel Gilbert , noting, “Choosing a dress was a very frustrating process as I’m a very indecisive person. Everything I tried on I loved but I never got that overwhelming feeling of knowing that I had found ‘the one’. With my close friends and family living interstate, I found it difficult choosing the final dress. I wanted a dress that was different to what everyone else was getting and that would really make a statement. I ended up seeing a dress on Instagram and thought it would be perfect for the day. When I tried it on, it made me smile and it felt right. It was a hand beaded bodice made up of Swarovski crystals matched with a fitted silk skirt, both from Rachel Gilbert.”
Jess walked down the aisle to Boyce Avenue’s cover of “A Thousand Years”.
Gerard Maguire and Carla Sellwood who happen to be Jess’ uncle and Aiden’s sister officiated the ceremony, Jess telling, “We wanted our ceremony to be really intimate and personal. My uncle and Aiden’s sister performed the ceremony so it made it even more special. We had two readings which were read by my brother and Aiden’s sister.”
The beautiful Lindenderry At Red Hill set the scene for the big day. The bride remarking, “We chose this venue as since moving to Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula is somewhere that we like to go to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. We also didn’t want people to have to travel between the ceremony and reception. As a lot of our guests were coming from interstate, Lindenderry was somewhere that offered not only beautiful surroundings for our photos but also accommodation for guests, a day spa and only a short drive to places like Sorrento, Portsea and the Peninsula hot springs.”
“Our day represented us! It’s so easy to get caught up in all of the bells and whistles associated with weddings but we worked out what was important to us and focused on that.”
Of their photographer, Jess remembers, “Shelley and her side kick Jenna were amazing! They weren’t like other photographers who become quite awkward and in the way but they added to the fun and became part of the day. They were happy to share our banter and weren’t scared when we decided that wheelbarrow races were the thing to do on your wedding day!”
Bloominel styled the rich floral arrangements for the day, Jess remembering, “The photographer and florist were my favourite vendors. They both made the decision making a breeze and were so easy to work with. They understood what our vision was and it definitely translated on the day.”
The day had a few fun handmade elements. “We were mindful of our budget but knew where to splurge and where to save. We made our own favours using plastic test tubes and filled them with different teas and coffees. Aiden also made the ‘Love’ letter lights which looked amazing and saved us a lot of money!”
Jess and Aiden chose Sam Smith’s “Latch” for their first dance, choosing the The Baker Boys to provide music for the dance floor. The bride remembers, “Our first dance felt really special, not because we planned anything but with such a whirlwind of a day, it was nice to have a moment of just Aiden and I. Even though everyone was watching, it felt like Aiden and I were the only ones in the room.”
Congratulations on becoming newlyweds Jess and Aidan! Thank you for sharing your day with us! A big thank you also goes to Shelley Price for sharing this gorgeous celebration with us!
