Five Minutes With....Ane From Ane Hagan Photography

What is your favourite wedding theme?

I am a sucker for a good old charm rustic wedding theme (like this one styled by Affair With Flair)

What inspires you?

My beautiful family which consists of my partner of 19 years and two gorgeous and demanding kids who are three and five years old.

What is special about weddings to you?

To me the most special thing about weddings is how people flow over with emotion and love for each other and their families. And then they invite me to document all that – what a treat!

What is your favourite image of all time?

That I have taken? If so, it is this one of Nikki and Ross on High Street in Fremantle.

What book are you reading at the moment?

I am about to read ‘The Consumption Cleanse’ self published by my friend Michael Blue.

What is your Number 1 tip for brides and grooms?

Soak up the ‘you-two-time’ during the photo session; it is most likely the only time on your wedding day you get a moment to yourselves.

What is the one tool of your that you can’t live without?

Besides the obvious – my cameras , I am so impressed and can’t live without my Moneymaker camera harness from Hold Fast Gear.

What are you excited about right now?

Going to Sumatra for a three week holiday with my family very soon!

What is a special personal talent you possess?

I can seal my nose with my top lip so I don’t get water up my nose when I swim under water (I can’t believe I just voluntarily revealed that weird talent to the world!) – definitely no photos of this one!

Where is your favourite place to escape to for downtime and why?

My friends’ place in Margaret River, for all the obvious reasons, but also for their company in front of the fireplace on a wet and cold night.

Ms Chinoiserie Says: Sumatra sounds just wonderful; perhaps you could share some of your beautiful images with us when you return?!

About Ane Hagen Photography: Hi! Lucky for me, I love weddings and photography and people – which also happen to be my job! Being invited to document your very special day of celebration is a huge privilege! I just love capturing all the nuances of the day – the emotions and moments of joy, the tears and smiles, the nerves and the laughs, first kisses and first dances and crazy aunties on the dance floor. There is never a dull moment at a wedding!
