Eliza & Daniel

Want an engagement shoot with a heck of a lot of fun and a touch of sweetness? This romantic Sunshine Coast engagement from This Is Life Photography makes the most of the forest to sea spirit of the coastal region with our couple Eliza and Daniel who “wanted photos that resonated with our fun and adventurous relationship”.

Now fans of online dating, Eliza tells the story of how the two lovebirds met. “We met on an online dating app one day and after many requests (as I was so over dating) I agreed to a date. We went to a restaurant and we had immediate sparks. He dropped me home and the next day he delivered a bouquet of flowers to my door. He, later in the relationship revealed to me that he fell head over heels for me that night.”

On what they love about one another, Eliza remarks “We love that we complement each other so well as we are complete opposites! Daniel is the super relaxed, carefree, hands-on type personality and I am the one that takes more of an analytical, realistic and very driven, self-motivated approach. We both love that we are very active and are always adventuring and dabbling in new activities each weekend.”

The proposal happened to a very surprised Eliza, who remembers “I had just finished competing 4 days at the national cheerleading championship in Melbourne when I arrived back home and Daniel had come to pick me up. He was absolutely set on taking me to dinner even though I was utterly exhausted and really wanted to go home.

We started driving and he began acting really strange and driving in the complete opposite direction to where we were meant to be going. I was pretending to be asleep in the car because I really wasn’t enthused to go to dinner and to my surprise when I opened my eyes he was driving me down an ominous pitch-black forestry road to which I thought – “my goodness!” Praying I secretly hadn’t been dating a closet psychopath. He drove to the end of the road and said ‘Nope that’s it, I’m turning around – you don’t want to go to dinner’.

Then he stopped the car, got out and stood in front of it and just stayed there. I stepped out of the car and noticed we had driven through to a secluded beach. Then I walked up to him and he got down on one knee and proposed. I was so taken aback that I forgot that I even needed to respond. I said yes and were were both so excited that we skipped dinner and went home to tell all the family!”
