Madi & Tyler

Madi and Tyler were always best friends in high school, though their love didn’t start to blossom until they were a little older and wiser. It was a blissfully warm February day when they tied the knot in a romantic country wedding in Terara. With good food and good friends, they turned that high school friendship into a life long romance.

Sarah Kennedy Photography was there to capture their day in all its beauty.

Madi chose a lace gown by Briony Leigh Bridal, she notes “my dress was beautiful and exactly my style. It was super comfortable but elegant and classy.”

Madi and Tyler chose the beautiful The Driftwood Shed for their day, noting “we chose The Driftwood Shed because it has a super relaxed but elegant vibe to it and we loved that it was DIY so we could put our own twist on it. The owner of the venue, Karen is also amazing and couldn’t do enough to help us.”

“Our musician, Brock Lette was so outstanding. Everyone couldn’t give him enough compliments and he suited our day perfectly.”

The day was filled with family, Madi telling “My 23-year-old brother was our ring bearer. It was really important to me for him to be included in our wedding as he has been such a big part of my life and it was really lovely for him to be a part of the day. He also helped me the day before setting everything up, including making the flowers for the tables and did all the last minute decorating. Absolute champion!”

Of her walk down the aisle, the bride tells “I chose ‘Can’t help falling in love’ by Elvis Presley. It was my mum and dad’s wedding song and they are the perfect example of what a marriage should be. My mum and dad both walked me down the aisle.”

Renee Milthorpe officiated the ceremony, Madi recalling “The ceremony was everything we imagined it would be. Walking down the aisle to see Tyler’s face made everything worth it. My mum did a beautiful reading that made everyone cry!”

Lily Ever After created classic pink and white arrangements for the day, the bride remarking “I chose a variety of white and pink flowers. They were so beautiful and our florist did an amazing job!”

The bridesmaids were Amber and Lauren, both Madi’s friends since school. “They are both super supportive awesome friends and I couldn’t have picked two better girls to have by my side. The groomsmen were Ajay; Tyler’s best friend since kindergarten! Also, a super supportive and amazing friend to us both and the other was Tyler’s younger brother, Jake.”

“There is a close-up photograph of Tyler’s hand on my face and we are both looking into each other’s eyes. It’s my favourite because I remember how in love I felt in that moment (and still do!).”

Of their photographer, Madi tells “Sarah is nothing short of a superhero! Totally amazing in everything she does and never fails to make you laugh! Every single photo we got back was a ‘holy wow’ moment. She’s the best!”

Of their first dance, the bride recalls “We chose ‘Feels like home’ by Edwina Hayes. We chose it because the lyrics are exactly how our relationship feels to us.”

Special heirlooms were dotted throughout the day. “My mother in law gave me a horse shoe that she was given at her wedding as a good luck charm which we had on our signing table at the ceremony. We also used my mum and dad’s cake knife that they used at their wedding 23 years ago to cut their cake.”

Congratulations on your marriage Madi and Tyler! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us. Thank you also to Sarah Kennedy Photography for sharing today’s celebration!
