Happy Monday Dotties! Did you have a lovely weekend filled with the sunshine? Or was it dark and gloomy where you are? I live where the weather never makes up its mind – so one has to love change!

Now that its Spring time, thoughts turn to making the most of the outdoors. Whether it is a barbeque or simply a walk in a park somewhere, make some time to just sit and smell the flowers.  Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for vendors who are happy to listen to your dreams and will help to plan your day. We have Menswear, we have Entertainment, we have Flowers and Cakes – we even have Catering and Bridal Gown Services! Our vendors are keen to help you put your plans into action.

We love our celebrants because without a celebrant how can you have a wedding? Kate of  Celebrant Kate is a celebrant who is committed to providing a calm and unhurried wedding ceremony with just the right amount of sparkle and creativity to ensure your ceremony is all about you and not generic and dull. She only conducts one ceremony per day and is on hand to greet your guests, liaise with suppliers and most importantly to calm your nerves. So just relax and enjoy your ceremony – you’re in good hands!

We asked Kate of Celebrant Kate five questions in five minutes:

What is your reward after a big working day?

A glass of bubbles! When I get home after a ceremony I almost always say “they were just such a beautiful couple!” and I know that they’re now celebrating with their family and friends so it’s nice to have a little ‘cheers’ to them J

Favourite weekend getaway?

For relaxation anywhere by the beach! For a bit of fun I’m a big fan of a city break with some fine dining, live music and a funky rooftop bar somewhere.

What is your most prized possession?

I’ve recently begun decluttering and found myself following a blog called ‘becoming minimalist’ as well as embracing the KonMari method of changing the way we view our possessions. Which means a ‘prized possession’ doesn’t come to mind, but so many memorable life experiences do! But if I had to think of a thing, then I would say I definitely can’t live without my phone!

Favourite restaurant?

There’s too many!! Anywhere with fresh local produce, doing innovative things with it AND where I don’t have to choose off a menu! I love leaving it up to the staff (they know their stuff better than I do) to just bring out their best dishes, it’s a great way to try new things.

What do you most enjoy about being in the wedding industry?

The love, the people, the creativity, the style, CELEBRATING!
