It’s up to you New York, New York! With so much to do and see in New York, you are never going to have the same experience as somebody else. If you’re a foodie, you’ve no doubt booked your seat at the city’s finest restaurants months in advance, or if you’re an art enthusiast you’ve probably lined up a schedule of galleries and exhibitions to make your way through… The list goes on, it’s New York!

However, if there was one experience that almost everybody would love to do in the Big Apple, it has got to be taking a cruise around Manhattan and the seeing the city up in lights by boat.

During New York Bridal Fashion Week, the lovely folks at Bateaux New York treated the Aisle Society (a network of more than 30 of the world’s top wedding bloggers, which includes Polka Dot Bride), to a three-course dinner cruise on the Hudson River. Hello, pinch me moment! It really was. The all-glass enclosed European-styled vessel cruised past New York’s iconic landmarks including a face-to-face with the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and One World Trade.

What could be better than enjoying unobstructed views of the skyline from the outdoor viewing deck or from the comfort of inside the glass-enclosed boat? Throw in a little bubbly, craft cocktails, a three-course meal by candlelight, a live band and dancefloor, and you have a night that some could only dream of!

With Australians flocking to America in records numbers (more than a million making the trip across the Pacific in 2016), there is no doubt that Aussie couples are heading to this cultural metropolis for their honeymoons, engagements, anniversaries, and even their weddings. I personally know a handful of Australian couples who have decided to tie the knot in NYC. So how about hosting a wedding on the water or a rehearsal dinner that will really say to your guests, “you have arrived in in NYC!” And I’m not sure if you can beat a proposal on the Hudson River either. Nobody is saying “no” to that!

The jury is in: cruising the Hudson River is the most romantic experience in New York!
