Happy Monday Dotties! The sun is shining, the clouds are parting and we are well into enjoying the warmer Spring days! Spring brings so many stunning weddings, and the meeting of so many amazing vendors to build your dream team.

Choosing vendors who you can make a connection with is so important to feeling as if you’re under control with your wedding planning tasks. Is your vendor willing to answer your questions? Does your vendor come back to you in a timely fashion or make constant excuses for not being available? We suggest you also take a look at Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for vendors who are keen to help you with your wedding day. We have Photobooth Hire, we have Cinematography, we have Flowers and Mobile Bars & Drinks Catering – we even have Photography and Menswear! We asked Evelyn of Paper Colada five questions in five minutes:

What is your reward after a big working day?

A good meal and a glass of wine, or a bath, or a bike ride (or all of those in a varied order of events).

Favourite weekend getaway?

I love farm-stays and woodsy, cottage holiday lets. My absolute favourite time of the year is Autumn, where it’s warm enough in the middle of the day to enjoy time outside walking through the woods, or feeding some farm animals, and then the cool evenings for a sleep-inducing meal and a cosy fire.

What is your most prized possession?

Naturally, I would give up everything material for my family, but let’s say the house is on fire and I run back in to grab one thing….it would be my vintage family photo album with photos dating back to the 1900s of my Mother, Father, Grandparents, and great-grandparents in Germany. I’m very sentimental when it comes to treasures handed down through the generations.

Favourite restaurant?

A Japanese restaurant here on my side of town called Kokoro (in the ACT). Such good food!

What do you most enjoy about being in the wedding industry?

All my business is done online, it’s rare that I meet a Bride in person, and it’s funny because sometimes as the day draws closer I can almost hear the panic in their emails to me about last-minute place cards they need, or invitations being chewed by pets etc. I love being able to take at least one stress away from them, giving them piece of mind that I’ve got them covered 🙂
