We asked Serge of DJ:Plus Entertainment five questions in five minutes:

What is your reward after a big working day?

My biggest reward after working a long wedding day is seeing those big smiles on the bride & grooms faces at the end of the night. I also enjoy the odd hug and kiss from them as well!! 😊 Otherwise it is a glass of nice cognac when I get home as I run through the various magical moments of a couple’s wedding day in my mind.

Favourite weekend getaway?

As most weekends are taken up with either weddings or consultations, it is not often that I am able to have a weekend away. But if the opportunity presents, I do like to head down to the Southern Highlands or South Coast of NSW.

What is your most prized possession?

Family & friends are the things I value the most. They provide endless support, inspiration and love in all facets of my being. I feel blessed to have these very special people in my life.

Favourite restaurant?

Actually have two and they are at opposite ends of the dining spectrum from each other.

Love Peter Gilmore’s Quay Restaurant for that special night out with exquisite delicious food that tantalises every taste bud in your mouth, impeccable service, a beautiful view of Sydney Harbour and fine dining at its best.

Sadly the other recently closed after 60 years ☹ It was No Names in East Sydney. A basic soup kitchen style eatery that was hard to find, but served home style Italian food. Basic menu with limited items, all exceptionally tasty, delicious, and the huge portions ensured you never left still feeling hungry. No décor to speak of, no view – just great food at cheap prices.

Both very different, but both experiences!

What do you most enjoy about being in the wedding industry?

Being a hopeless romantic who loves love, being able to work in the wedding industry is like a dream come true for me, for weddings are all about love!♥ When a couple invites me to play a part in this milestone event in their lives, it is considered by me as the greatest of honours. This is a day when they make lifelong commitments, a day that is celebrated with only their dearest family and friends – and I not only get to witness and celebrate their love with them, but also have the opportunity to help create some wonderful memories!! Witnessing their love, joy, happiness, laughter and connection that they share is what truly warms my heart and makes it happy. It is all these things plus that warm fuzzy feeling at the end of it all when you realise that you actually made some difference, is what I enjoy most about being in the wedding industry.
