Anna & Tyrone

Brisbane always loves to put on a show and when it comes to sunshine, well, there is a reason after all that they’re called the Sunshine state! Anna and Tyrone honoured that very fact by adding gorgeous tropical details throughout their wedding. From the soft colours to the surprise macaw bird making an appearance at the reception, to the night ending with plenty of treats from their favourite ice creamy.

Pure magic is made when weddings reflect the love and personalities in beautiful ways like this and so stunningly captured by the talented Cloud Catcher Studio .

After a long friendship spanning many years, the couple were engaged on the Canadian snowfields, Anna remembering “We were in Canada on holidays and were staying at the Fairmont Chateau on Lake Louise. We went ice skating on the lake and on the final lap when I began complaining about the cold. I noticed, rose petals on the ice and turned around to find Ty on one knee.”

The bride worked with designer Roslyn Jenkins to create a lace, strapless gown. She explains “The hunt for the perfect dress was relatively pain-free! After shopping around at the local Bridal boutiques, I managed to piece together an image of my “perfect dress”. Knowing what I was after, I went to the private designer and bridal specialist, Ros Jenkins, whose perfectionist attitude delivered nothing short of a breath-taking dress on the day. The delicate yet luxurious silk fabrics were sourced from Alla Moda. A lot of the beading was done by hand from the designer, Ros. The veil featured hand-sewn pearls into the soft tulle, one of my favourite features.”

Anna and Tyrone chose the sentimental venue of All Hallows Chapel for their wedding. The bride tells “The location for the ceremony had a special meaning to both the both of us. I attended All Hallows’ School in Brisbane, and Tyrone’s parents taught there for decades. We loved the beautiful chapel and detailing of the marble columns and windows. The school is also situated adjacent to one of Brisbane’s prime spectacles. The bridge and river was a beautiful backdrop on the day for both group and individual photos. The grounds at the school also had lovely greenery, over-arching walkways and sandstone columns – perfect for individual photos.”

The bride walked down the aisle with her father to Mendelssohn’s Wedding March.

Of their photographer, the bride remarks “Cloud Catcher Studios looked after us. They had previously shot Cas and Nick‘s (close family) wedding just under a year ago, so it was awesome for them to see so many familiar faces (and places! We both got ready in their family home).”

“All the photos capture different elements and highlights of the day but we think that the candid, raw images from the church ceremony and at the reception of the unveiling and other the bridal party were our group favourites. The favourite images of ours are when the sun was beginning to set and there is the perfect amount of light hitting the two of us, Cloud Catcher nailed that one.”

Anna and Tyrone chose Moda Events Portside for their reception, which took on a soft, tropical vibe, Anna telling “Moda as a whole offered the complete package. The staff couldn’t have been more understanding and genuine leading up to the wedding and on the day itself. Everyone was a standout, wouldn’t have changed a thing.”

Kate Dawes Flower Design created stunning floral arrangements to Anna’s brief, she explains “Orchids are my favourite flower, so with this in mind, we had the incredible Kate from Kate Dawes Flower Design, utilise her expertise to deliver a soft and tropical luxe feel for the day. The bridal bouquet was a mix of soft peach and pink colours, with hints of white and greenery. This was very elegant and soft, perfect for me. For the reception, we had palms, a green wall, a tropical oasis breakout space (and of course orchids!) for the ultimate tropical vibes. There was also a real Macaw present at the reception! The bird complemented the style of the wedding perfectly, as well as providing entertainment of exceptional photo opportunities.”

Guests enjoyed a dessert of Gelato Messina.

The first dance was a childhood favourite for the bride who tells “We chose “Can you feel the love tonight” from the Lion King soundtrack. It was a childhood favourite but we felt the lyrics would really capture the moment. We were fortunate enough to have one of my cousins who is a dance instructor choreograph a small dance. Although pretty average, in the beginning, we managed to get through it and put on a decent 1min 30sec dance.”

Rush Entertainment put on an amazing performance for a packed dance floor. “We had a band put together of 5 musicians, the songs they played were the best mix from old school to modern hits and just got everyone in the mood when the time came to party” says Anna.

Congratulations Anna and Tyrone! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! Thank you also to Cloud Catcher Studio and Moda Events Portside for sharing today’s beautiful wedding!
