The glamour and sparkle of the month, with The Black Tie Issue is right up my alley and what could be a better way to celebrate than with cocktails fit for an elegant evening? The Champagne Cocktail is an old favourite (it dates back tot he 1800s!), and just the most delicious change if you’re a lover of champagne. The sugar cube adds a little extra sparkle when the champagne is poured, reacting in the most theatrical way- which really, is what Black Tie is all about!
- One sugar cube
- 5ml Bitters
- 25ml Cognac
- Drop the sugar cube into a champagne glass and add the bitters, soaking the cube
- Add the cognac to the glass
- Top with champagne
