Emma & Duane
If there ever was an inspiration for a wedding that was beautifully romantic, then French Provincial is top of the list. Emma and Duane chose the most beautiful garden setting for their day, captured expertly by Bonnie Jenkins, and added a provincial flair to it. They chose beautiful, romantic floral arrangements, soft hues of blush and lilac and every romantic detail they could think of – and the best part? They planned it in just three months! “Duane’s 92-year-old nan was coming for a visit in September” tells Emma “We decided why wait? As we really wanted nan to be there to celebrate with us so we pulled it all together!”
The couple met in Noosa, while the bride was working at a cafe where Duane was the delivery driver. A discovery of a mutual friend, who then turned himself, matchmaker, meant this couple had no hope of anything but being exactly where they are.
Emma found her, strapless gown at Pallas Couture, telling “I was lucky enough to get the last appointment for a sample sale they were holding in the Sydney store. The story behind my dress is pretty unique as it was actually made for a reality TV celebrity and she changed her mind on the dress before her last fitting. The dress was brand new and had gone into the sample sale and as they hadn’t had anyone with the right figure I was the first one that was allowed to try it on. I tried on two dresses that day and fell head over heels in love with my dress as soon as I put it on,”
Emma and Duane chose the beautiful garden venue of Spicers Clovelly Estate for their wedding, noting “It’s on a beautiful acreage property with a very simple elegant French provincial feel. The property offers accommodation for you and your guests and you are all able to come together next morning for a beautiful buffet breakfast on the lawn.”
Love Note Music played “Sanctuary” by Nashville Cast as the bride walked down the aisle with her father.
Shay Zulpa officiated the ceremony, Emma remarking “Our ceremony was very small and intimate we wanted it to be all about us and our family. Both Duane and I wrote our own vows and had Duane’s son Bailey in charge of our wedding rings.”
Heavenly Blooms created the lush provincial inspired bouquets for the day, the bride telling “I was lucky enough to have an incredible florist Nat was amazing she was able to capture what I wanted perfectly with little input from me. I told her I wanted simple elegance and beautiful blush colours and she came up with the rest. The flowers couldn’t have been more perfect.
Of their photographer, Emma tells “Bonnie Jenkins was amazing. From the moment I spoke to her on the phone I knew she was meant to be our photographer. From the start, we were both very comfortable with her and her vision for our wedding. She captured our day from start to finish perfectly missing no details. All our photos feel very candid and nothing staged which was exactly what we were after. My husband hates photos and cameras and Bonnie made him feel totally comfortable and at ease with the camera and captured some of the most incredible shots.”
Love Note Music played “Unchained Melody” as the bride and groom took to the ballroom floor for their first dance.
Congratulations on your beautiful marriage Emma and Duane! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! Thank you also to Bonnie Jenkins for sharing today’s stunning captures!
