Rolling country hills are always a favourite of mine when it comes to Australian weddings. There is something utterly romantic about the different shades of green, the sun-dried grasses, the contrasts that Mother Nature brings to life.

As we celebrate entering a new phase of Australian weddings – where marriage equality (is finally) legal, so many wedding pros we love are coming together to produce celebratory editorials and today? We get to share one that is filled with the rolling country beauty.

With Ashleigh Haase Photography behind the camera and  Posies & Twine on florals, models Jessica Peart and Jade Bicheno acted as our brides, dressed in beautiful gowns from Wendy Makin with romantic, hair and makeup by Parisa Hair & Make Up.

Our brides, who wore complementing gowns with stunning lace bodices and chic, floaty skirts, wore beautiful floral pieces in their hair, and contrasting bouquets that reflected the country beauty.

“The style of the shoot was effortless romance. Airy, calm and charming” tells photographer Ashleigh, who worked hard with the team to capture the pure, romantic love against the country backdrop, in light of Australia’s plebiscite and their strong beliefs around it. Ashleigh remarking “The inspiration behind the shoot was to create relatable moments with the same-sex theme. To be inclusive of all sexualities in a setting that we are all very familiar with (generally however in a heterosexual context). The shoot occurred at an important time where every single person in the team felt it was important to deliver a message that we all supported. Jessica and Jade both come from different backgrounds. In Jade’s words, the combination of herself and Jess as the models was beautiful in itself. You don’t need to identify as LGBT to support something if you think it is right.”
