Good style doesn’t stop with your wardrobe as it extends into grooming to ensure the perfect look on your perfect day. Clothes after all, can only get you so far. Gone are the days when a man could get away with a quick shave and a splash of water to the face to calm the nerves on his wedding day. To make a good impression, you have to have a good grooming regime; one precedes the other as sure as day precedes night. You’d be surprised how far a spritz of the right fragrance, or a dab of brightening eye cream can get you.

The following essentials will fill you with confidence when it is most needed:

1 A high quality shaving lotion that slides gently on the skin, smells refreshing leaving you with only a healthy glow.

2 A high quality skin cleanser, facial scrub and toner to be applied in that order.

3 A high quality face cream moisturiser that can be used morning and night.

4 A high quality eye lift crème especially if you have been foolish enough to have your stag the night before. For those that have a light touch with a concealer stick which also comes in handy for any unwanted blemishes.

5 If you have a beard a trim on the day and the application of a beard oil will have you looking fine, clean and sharp in no time at all.

6 A good quality shampoo for setting the day off on the best start followed by a hair texturising and conditioning spray applied wet prior to a light addition of moulding wax on dried hair to finish.

A high quality deodorant as your wedding day is not a lynx day.

8 High quality toothpaste to ensure fresh breath for the day and I would also recommend carrying a breath freshener. Stress and prolonged periods without food can affect our breath.

9 A nail kit containing all the necessary tools to make sure your nails look professionally manicured [if you don’t own one and don’t look after your nails, start well in advance]

10 A hand crème especially if you use your hands for work.

11 A cloths brush to remove lint, fluff and dust you may pick up prior or during your wedding day.

Ms Zigzag says: I love the idea of the groomsmen all pitching in to gift the groom with a special grooming package containing all of these self-care items.
