There’s so much to organise for a wedding and sometimes you might be left feeling like you don’t know what’s next; that’s when attending a wedding expo will help you to know what’s out there and what is right for your wedding.

At a wedding expo you’ll find a range of vendors who are keen to learn about your dream wedding and how their services might fit into your dream. Often you might meet celebrants, photographers, caterers and learn about wedding venues – it’s your one stop shop!

If you’ve never been to expo it might feel a little overwhelming but we are here to help! We have come up with a list of tricks and tips to help you out on expo day.

  • Bring a big bag – Some expos will provide you with a goodie bag on entry but it’s always good to come prepared. You’ll be collecting a lot of brochures and business cards and in some cases samples (flowers, cupcakes, photo booth images etc.), make sure you have a big bag to store them so you can refresh your mind after the expo.
  • Go early – Sometimes these type of events can get really busy. Going early gives you time to find a park and get in to chat to vendors before the lunch-time rush.
  • Be prepared – Think of what vendors you are looking for and the types of questions you want to ask. It might be easier to organise an appointment to ask questions at a later date so keep in mind your schedule. Keep an eye on upcoming events, ticket prices are often cheaper if you purchase them a few weeks prior.
  • Take a friend – Having a friend or your partner there is great for back up. You might need help holding brochures or maybe they can snap some pics during the fashion show whilst you can take the time to pick and choose what works best for you.
  • Take a pen and paper – You might need to make appointments or write down a particular thing you liked most about vendor. There will be lots of different vendors selling a similar thing so marking their business card is a great way to remember which one was your preference and what you liked about them.
  • And lastly, stress less – There’s so much hype at these type of events but you don’t need to pressure yourself into making any decisions on the day. Use the expo as an opportunity to see what’s out there and to help form your wish list.

We hope this list helps you prepare for a beautiful wedding. For more information on upcoming events visit Wedding Expos Australia, Wedding Guide or enquire with your local vendors.
