Shane & Kristen
On the 1st of June 2018 on a beautiful day in Bali Shane and I became husband and wife! Our wedding was held at Villa Tamarama in Ungasan perched upon the clifftops. It is the prettiest place I think I have ever seen. We had the pleasure of staying here with most of our bridal party for two amazing and memorable nights.
Our wedding involved 32 guests whom were our closest friends and family. We both wanted it to be an intimate wedding and to be kept as small as possible. Our bridal parties consisted of all our high school best friends – we are so lucky to have them! Our wedding day was everything I dreamt of plus more. It was magical, to describe it in one word. Villa Tamarama is a beautiful all white Hamptons style villa with so much greenery and beauty and the most beautiful ocean view. It truly was one of the best days of my life marrying my bestie!
The day went perfectly and ended on such a high with 99% of our wedding guests jumping in the pool (a lot of them fully clothed). It was so much fun and a day I think we will all remember and smile on for many years to come. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life laughing and making memories together!
Shane and I both attended the same high school. I was two years above Shane so wasn’t paying too much attention to him at the time, although I knew who he was! Apparently he had a crush on me – cute! However, being the ‘older girl’ he left me alone. It was when Shane was almost 21 and I was 23 that he decided to send me a Facebook message with a ‘yo’. I was very hesitant to reply – but I did and I’m so happy! The conversation has never stopped since then and we were in a relationship within just a few weeks!
Shane and I went on a 4 week holiday travelling around America. It was the trip of a lifetime for us. On our second day of travels whilst in Los Angeles, we had planned to go and see the Hollywood sign! That morning we had visited the charmed house (my favourite show of all time) and it had already been the most amazing and surreal morning. It was whilst we were hanging around in front of the Hollywood sign, taking photos, that as we were about to leave, I turned around to see Shane on one knee asking me to marry him! Of course I accepted immediately and ecstatically. It was the best way to start our big American holiday! We were on a high for the next four weeks. It was just perfect.
We have now been together for 6 and a half years. We purchased our family home at the beginning of 2018 where we live with our two fur babies – Indy and Lily! We will be honeymooning in Queenstown, New Zealand in a few months and we can’t wait!
Our wedding planner was Global Weddings. They were all over everything from day dot. They had us at ease from the beginning, allowing us to enjoy everything in the lead up – without stress (which I think is rare!) as we knew our wedding was in capable and safe hands! Global Weddings are also located in Australia, which I think made me feel a bit more comfortable with the planning of an overseas wedding. We are so happy we chose them and had them managing the entire day! They were just fab.
The photographer was Imaj Gallery. I found Imaj Gallery on Instagram and had been following them for so long! Their work is elegant, natural and raw. I simply knew I wanted them for our special day. Agung and his team were so wonderful on the day. They made us and everyone feel so comfortable.
Myself, my bridal party and both of our Mum’s had our make up done by Renee Pettit. She did such an amazing job.
Our florist was Wedding in Bali. WOW. They were just stunning. So happy with all of our flowers and our big pretty pastel floral arch.
Bride’s Dress: MillaNova. My dress was a mermaid fit. It was two tones, low back, detailed with hints of sparkle. I loved it so much!
Bride’s Shoes: My shoes were gold heels with cute little bows on them by Fiebiger.
Jewellery: I picked a beautiful gold crown with matching earrings from Jeanette Maree. I love my crown so much.
Bridesmaid’s Dresses: They were pastel blue from Forever New. They flowed and felt very bali appropriate. I knew the pastel blue would look magical at Villa Tamarama against the whites, greenery and the clifftop ocean/sky views.
Bridemaid’s Shoes: The girls all wore beige block heels.
Groom’s Attire & Shoes: Shane’s suit jacket was a light grey from Calibre, the rest of his outfit and the groomsmen outfits were from Tarocash.
Ms Zebra Says: A big thank you to Shane & Kristen for sharing their beautiful day with us! The clifftop view looked incredible and we wish you all the best in the future – and a wonderful honeymoon in New Zealand!
