Anna & Luke

For me, one of the things I love most about weddings is the sense of community. I love seeing family and friends pitch in, I love the shared trips to the hairdresser, the shared days out shopping for dresses, of pre-wedding parties and celebrations and, it is exactly this sense of community that led me to fall in love with Anna and Luke’s lush and modern winter wedding. The pair, who met at church, chose their own church to wed, making sure to include the members of their church family as part of their day. The bride’s own talents in her florist business coming to life through the lush, floral details that transformed a blank space into something more than a little magical. With beautiful images captured by the team at Ephemeral Creative, this wedding is one we can’t wait to share!

The groom to be proposed to Anna by using a dinner date as his cover. The bride fills us in. “It was our usual date night except Luke told me we were going out for a fancy dinner. He came to pick me up but told me he ‘forgot is wallet’, which wasn’t a huge issue because where the restaurant was wasn’t far from his house. When we arrived at Luke’s house he led me up to the deck which was lit by candles and set up for dinner for two. It was so pretty! He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course, I said YES! Then we enjoyed a delicious dinner under the stars. It was perfect.”

Anna chose her gown by Grace Loves Lace for its comfort and style! She shares “I was chasing a dress that was a bit different and fun. I came across Grace loves Lace and chose the Verdelle 2.0 gown.
It is romantic and super comfortable. The best part though was the lace cape sleeves that trailed behind. Grace loves Lace was so easy to work with and made me feel super comfortable.”

Anna’s bridesmaids wore blush pink gowns from The Iconic.

Anna walked down the aisle with her father to Phil Wickham’s “You’re Beautiful”.

Pastor John Armstrong officiated the ceremony, Anna telling “We wanted our ceremony to be a fun celebration. Which it was! We had two readings from the Bible one from Colossians 3;12-17 and the other from Ephesians 3:14-21.
It was important to us that we included God in our day and our commitment to each other.”

Anna and Luke chose Arana Hills Church of Christ for their ceremony and reception, Anna telling “We chose our church for both our ceremony and reception venue. Not only is this a place where Luke and I spend a lot of time but it was also a venue that allowed us to be creative with our set up.”

Anna is a florist in her everyday life, (Bits and Buds) her talent coming in very handy for her wedding day! She explains “I am a florist (Bits and Buds) so I had free reign on what I could have which was amazing, and one of the things I most enjoyed doing for our wedding. I chose a pale pink and red colour scheme to create a romantic but bold look.
The bouquets included Garden Rose, Peonies, Hydrangea, Astilbe and Copper Beech foliage It was super special to me that I could create something for our day.”

Of their photographer, Anna gushes “Ephemeral are so great! They are not only so talented but so easygoing and friendly. They make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera and are so good at capturing the moments.”

Anna loved “Choosing all the bits and pieces and seeing it all come together with the way you envisioned.” The newlyweds decorated the tables themselves, each guest greeted by a customized place card place setting.

Terri’s Sweet Creations served up a table of decadent wedding cake and sweet treats.

A big congratulations to Anna and Luke! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Ephemeral Creative for sharing today’s photographs with us.
