Tarryn & Luke

Lazy walks on weekend are one of my favourite things, and for Tarryn and Luke, who spent an afternoon strolling through King Edward Park in Newcastle with photographer  Samuel Jacob Photography, it was this ease, this relaxed setting that turned out to be the most beautiful way to capture their engagement. The duo loving candid moments and plenty of natural backdrops but wanted to give a nod to the very place Luke proposed. This engagement session? The most gorgeous way to spend an afternoon!

These two met at high school, but it wasn’t until a mutual friend’s 21st birthday that they finally connected and from then on? Inseparable!

Luke trying to impress his girlfriend remains one of the funniest stories of the time together of these two. Luke remembering “I remember from way back when we first started dating and we went ice skating. I may have been showing off a little and I hit a bump in the ice and crashed. I limped around after trying to tough it out. We went and got ice cream and then Tarryn drove my car home as my ankle was really sore. I went to the hospital the next day and they told me it was broken. Now Tarryn won’t let me ice skate with her anymore.”

It was under the stars that Luke proposed. Tarryn sharing “We went star gazing at King Edward park with our picnic blanket and some wine. We had a little competition going over who could see the most shooting stars. I was winning when Luke holds up the ring, wriggles it so it twinkles and asks if I can see this “star”. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the ring/star because it was very dark so I was pushing his hand out of the way trying to see where he was pointing and then all of a sudden I noticed it was a ring!! So I’m smiling, all happy, and Luke (who is apparently very nervous) just puts the ring straight on my finger without even asking! Luckily I was going to say yes anyway!”
