Crafting this urban wine bar wedding day with a relaxed vibe, the bride and groom simply wanted their friends and family to have fun! With a photo booth, gorgeous location and a Forever New gown, these two made the day their own, and we LOVE it! Rolan John Photo was on hand to capture everything.

Toni and Jaycob knew each other through mutual friends, but had never met. The bride tells, ”We spoke online about anything and everything for a few years before one Sunday we decided to get a drink together. It was an instant friendship and within a few months we were in a relationship and living together.” The couple picked out the engagement ring together, and the big question was popped by the groom one night in, before heading out for drinks with friends.

Finding her wedding dress at Forever New, the bride and groom knew it was the one almost immediately. Toni shares, ”I bought a $300 dress at my local shopping center. I got it altered to make it more me. I never saw myself in a gown and the second I tried it on and walked out of the change room Jake said ‘omg that’s the one!’ It was a weird experience going into a random store and finding a dress I’d become a bride in. It was special to have Jake there with me. Jake wore a linen white shirt, maroon pants and brown boots. He wanted to be comfortable for the wedding but look amazing at the same time. We had no one in our bridal party. We wanted a simple wedding with no stress whatsoever.” The bride wore a floral headpiece and veil made by Terrestrial.

Capturing one of the bride’s favourite moments with her father just before the ceremony, the bride tells of a special image. She says, ”We were talking about how he was proud of me and making a joke, I’m laughing and he’s smiling, it’s a beautiful photo of us I hold close to my heart.” The bride and her father walked down the aisle to ‘Coming Home’ by Leon Bridges. Toni remembers of the day, ”It was very relaxed. We wanted to showcase the fact that we are true soulmates and best friends and have spent our time together building a life and the life we will continue to build together.”

Keen for a relaxed day, booking wine bar Cru for both ceremony and reception was quickly done. The bride shares, ”We had gone to Cru for dinner once and were in total love with the place. It was so warm and cosy, that’s the vibe we wanted for our wedding.” Of the flowers, she tells, ”We had gone to Fig & Bloom and showed them a photo of my dress and as my engagement ring is a ruby we wanted the colour red in the wedding. I didn’t know or see my bouquet until about five minutes before I walked down the aisle. They were perfect and they killed it.”

Speaking of their wedding photographer, the newlyweds share, ”Rolan John Photo was amazing. We had a meeting with him to talk about what we wanted, within minutes we were 100% comfortable that he would do an amazing job. We didn’t want traditional wedding photos, just photos of everyone in the moment and every photo was just that. He was there all day and not once did he miss a moment or a smile or a look. You didn’t even realize he was there snapping photos most of the time. I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our wedding.”

The bride did a little DIY at Cru, making the wine bar their own for the night. She tells, ”I made paper flowers as a wall decoration and we hung photos and put pillows around the courtyard to warm up the place. We went for a calming relaxed vibe for our wedding. We just wanted our guests to have fun and be happy for us.”

Thank you to our stunning bride and groom for sharing your beautiful day, and congratulations! Thank you also to Rolan John Photo for your magnificent photos!
