Taneille & Nick

Set amongst the gorgeous countryside of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Taneille and Nick planned their wedding to be laid back with a festival feel. With all their guests staying on the property for the weekend, incredible food and loads of dancing, this sunshine filled day is captured beautifully by Mitchell J Carlin.

The bride tells of their engagement, ”Nick proposed on the top of Hat Head mountain walking track. This is a special place for my family as it has been a family holiday destination for over 10 years.

Beautifully feminine and with intricate details, Taneille’s gown was a showstopper! She shares, ”My dress was from L’eto Bridal in Newport Sydney. I absolutely loved my dress, just couldn’t wait to wear it! Special features were the detailed bead work and the huge bell sleeves.” Nick wore a sandy coloured linen jacket with a textured white linen shirt, charcoal trousers and a brown knitted tie from MJ Bale, with boots from RM Williams.

The ceremony was held under the branches of a beautiful big tree on the grounds of Yabbaloumba Retreat, with the Sunshine Coast Hinterland as their backdrop. Taneille shares, ”Our ceremony was very relaxed and fast. Our celebrant, Benjamin Breitenstein, was great! He made our ceremony very laid back. He focused on the individuals rather than the formalities of marriage. He really did his homework and knew what Nick and I wanted, a few guests asked if he was a mate as he really knew us and our background!” The bride’s Father walked her down the aisle to ‘I Love You Exactly How You Are’ by Ball Park Music.

With a relaxed feel to the day, the bride wanted large and organic flowers for her bouquets and for the reception. Taneille tells of Huckleberry Flowers, ”I asked our florist, Haylee, to go crazy. I really wanted a mixed, wild and full of texture look. Our flowers we absolutely amazing! Haylee spent lots of extra time making sure all the fine details were perfect. We had amazing hanging wagon wheels that were filled with foliage.  She did such an amazing job with the wheels in the barn, such a big job done so well!”

Working with the bride and groom, Mitchell J Carlin captured this sunshine filled day perfectly! The bride recalls, ”Mitch was easy going but firm, knowing how to get things done! He went to extra effort in organising us a hard cover thick page album as well. He put extra time into making sure he got the perfect picture at just the right time. We could not thank him enough, we are blown away with our photos, everything was perfectly captured! Colin, our videographer, brought our wedding to life. It was such an amazing feeling watching and reliving the best day of our lives!”

With rolling hills and golden sunsets, the countryside at Yabbaloumba Retreat provided the perfect location for Taneille and Nick. They tell, ”Both the reception and ceremony were held at Yabbaloumba Retreat. The land was perfect for what we were after. We hired the venue for three nights as we wanted our guests to stay all weekend, everyone we wanted was there! Guests stayed in Luxury Tipis from Pitch Luxury Camping, who did an amazing job of accommodating our guests.” The bride and groom’s first dance was to ‘iFly’ by Ball Park music, with the bride sharing, ”We wanted everyone to join in from the very beginning. So this dance wasn’t just about Nick and I. It was for everyone to enjoy together.”

Food for their guests came in many different tasty varieties, with friends and family pitching in to lend a helping hand. Taneille says, ”We DIY-ed most of the wedding. We organised all the furniture that was transported from the Gold Coast to sunny coast to set up the day before the wedding. Thank you to all our wedding party for helping! We had an amazing hanging antipasto table. This was a DIY addition, thanks to Nick and his dad for making it prior to the wedding. It was the size of a door (sooo much cheese from the Kenilworth Dairy, yum!). Also very special thanks to both our amazing mum’s for organising all the food for the antipasto table, job very well done!”

Congratulations to our stunning bride and groom on your wedding, and thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! Thank you also to Mitchell J Carlin for the use of your gorgeous images!
