Modern Rustic Wedding Ideas

Rustic and modern styling aren’t two styles that often marry at weddings, but today’s editorial certainly makes us question why.

From the stunning country landscape to the muted, elegant colour palette of black, grey and gold. The team worked to capture our real-life newlyweds Reuben & Charmaine, in a setting where Australian country beauty took on its own sense of the moment glamour.

Led by Margaret Albia, photographed by Cyron and Carmina of Captured Frames and styled by Jenna from The Soiree Project, the team took to the beautiful country venue of Ottimo House. “Every detail no matter how small or subtle, ultimately played a pivotal role in bringing our theme to life” tells the team.

Our bride (Charmaine Malillin) was made up by Margaret Albia and hairstylist Honeycombed and dressed in stunning pieces from Alca Line Bride and Lavender & Lilac. Her groom Reuben Keelty in a chic black Peter Jackson suit.  “To perfectly encapsulate the essence of the style shoot were the models of the day Reuben & Charmaine — being real-life newlyweds, their natural chemistry shone through” tell our photographers. “Despite the cold winter’s morning, you could genuinely feel their raw and authentic love for each other.”

And it was the blooms that really set the vision in motion, Blue Flowers creating a stunning set of statement floral arrangements with white orchids, dried palms and cotton flowers that not only worked in the country setting but also for the indoor ceremony, with its bold circular backdrop, neon light and white cane furniture pieces – all put together with pieces from The CollectiveSigned By Row  and Be Bold By Haylo. The dried, organic bloom styling continuing to the reception, for a  muted colour palette of black, grey and white the reception tablescape styled by Simply Seated. Bold touches of iron candelabras and acrylic juxtaposed with organically styled blooms.

Adrian and Cyron tell of the inspiration “A style best described as “modern rustic”, the shoot is a celebration of authentic long-lasting love. We aimed to create a style that would have widespread appeal – combining natural & rustic elements with minimal, contemporary touches to create a look that was both glamorous yet pared back, and on-trend yet timeless at the same time. The shoot was a collaboration of like-minded wedding vendors, all with a common vision, each honing in on their talents to create a uniquely styled shoot.”
