We love tradition at Polka Dot Bride and one tradition we share every single year (See our previous year’s countdowns here) is to countdown our favourite celebrity weddings of the year. 2018 was packed full of beautiful days, from the one that everyone tuned in to watch to the private celebrations that left us with just one beautiful image, We’ve packed out our countdown with just ten celebrity wedding stories of the year (and there are plenty more we just couldn’t fit in!) Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

If there was one wedding that had everyone tuning in, it was that fo Meghan Markle & Prince Harry The bride, aking her own statement as she walked down the aisle by herself in a gown designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. She finished her look with a five-metre train embroidered with flowers of countries of the Commonwealth (and of course, a California poppy). After the traditional cathedral ceremony, and parade the pair celebrated with a luncheon before they changed into more relaxed looks for their evening reception.

In a blushing gown by Rodarte, Mandy Moore walked down the aisle in November in a beautiful Los Angeles backyard wedding. the bride, whose gown featured a blush pink tiered skirt (complete with polka dots) added a sheer veil with tiny fresh flowers to her hair, The pair saying their I’dos below a jasmine flower adorned arch.

Kicking off 2018 with a February wedding, Amy Schumer & Chris Fisher said “I Do” in a beachside ceremony in sunny Malibu. Bridesmaids dressed in floor-length pink gowns proceeded the bride, who was dressed in a romantic, flowing lace gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. Puppy god ringbearers the star of the show at a wedding where the couple invited guests in her signature relaxed way- via text message.

Meghan & Harry wasn’t the only royal wedding this year, a few months later, as the Atrees turned AUtumn gold, Princess Eugenie walked down the aisle at St George’s Chapel. FOr the Autumn lower in us, the foliage and Autumnal tones were show stoppers. The bride makes a bold statement in her  Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos designed the gown, that featured a low back, showing off her scar she had obtained during a scoliosis surgery.

The couple celebrated with their guests at a lunchtime reception, before they changed (the bride into a blush Zac Posen gown) for an evening reception There was even a day after recovery festival for guests to enjoy.

Popping the Aussies in with the wedding of The Block stars Dan Reilly and Dani Wales who rounded out the year by tying the knot! The bride, who looked stunningly elegant in her Cappellazzo Couture one-shouldered gown, matched her groom who wore a white suit with black lapels from Joe Black. The pair, chose the Mornington Pennisnaul’s seaside location of Fingal for their day, celebrating in a clear marquee built by the groom. The most beautiful end to eight years of dating.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk celebrated their marriage in an intimate Hamptons day, the romantic celebration had a guest list of just 75. The guests enjoying a garden ceremony and marquee reception at the couple’s home. The bride, dressed in a couture Valentin lace wedding gown added loose waves and a classic veil to complete her look.

It was October 18th in upstate New York when Karlie Kloss wed her beloved Joshua Kushner. The pair wed with a traditional orthodox Jewish ceremony, The wedding, which was intimate by all accounts, and planned in just three months saw the bride dressed in a custom, classically styled Dior ballgown.

The wedding, which came just nine months after the birth of their daughter Goldie, chose the Conti di San Bonifacio resort for their day. with an outdoor reception the sparkling end to the day.

At a beautiful ranch in San Diego, Kaley and Karl welcomed guests to their wedding with z beautiful wedding filled with county charm, The bride dressed in a stunning lace gown by Reema Acra, complete with cap, changed into a lace jumpsuit for the carnival-themed reception. A nod to the couple’s love of all things equestrian led to horse related touches throughout the day- from the setting to the horseshoe filled decor.

The pair chose Queensland for their wedding, the SUnshine Coast venue of The Chapel Montville setting the scene for an emotional ceremony before a gorgeous garden reception unfolded at Secrets On The Lake.
