For all you Autumn/Winter brides, if you haven’t already started looking for your dream gown, now is the time! Whether you’re boho, simple classic, traditional, glam or modern, Autumn 2019 will have something for every bride and we cannot wait to share them with you! Check out what’s in trend next season.

Trend: Capes

Designer: Zuhair Murad

Over the past few years capes have dominated the runways, but this fall they’re back bigger and better than ever before! In fact, so much so that capes are becoming the new veil. These capes will surely make a statement, with a stunning fine tulle and a touch of 3D floral and shimmery sequins how can anyone pass this up? You might want to consider shortening the length and turning it in to a gorgeous hood that drapes seamlessly from the shoulders just to your fingertips. Or perhaps have it as a long veil-inspired length with a stunning detachable feature providing versatility to your wedding look. Either way we are obsessed!!

Trend: Bows

Add a romantic touch to your couture wedding dress by adding a beautiful simple sash, belt or oversized bow. With a touch of bridal lace or a luxurious pure silk satin, you can transform your simple gown into something so elegant without having to over-embellish.

Trend: Duchess Bateau and Mock-Necks

Courtesy: Kavier Gauche

Inspired by our favourite new Royal Meghan Markle, the simply elegant Bateau neckline is back on trend! With a custom-made bridal gown, you too can opt for a modest higher rounded neckline just like the Royals. We’ve seen the sweet-heart neckline for many years, but this season it’s time to shake it up with Bateau and mock necks. Ideally made from a beautiful clean structured fabric such as a silk faille or a silk satin to achieve a flat and crisp appearance.

Trend: Regality

Designer: Naeem Khan

2018 was definitely the year of the Royals and it’s no surprise that nods to Regality continue to influence Designers of the Bridal World. Whilst most gowns are constructed with in-built corsets, this Autumn/Winter 2019 we can expect to see lots of cinched waists with beautiful exposed corsetry work; inspired by the Victorian Era. With a nude organza underlay and scattered pearl embellishments, we are so in love with this new fresh modern look.

Trend: Romantic Sleeves

Designer: Sebastien Luke

As the cooler weather kicks in this Autumn, you might consider getting a beautiful statement sleeve added to your custom-made bridal gown. We can expect to see voluminous, exaggerated sleeves, embellished with 3D floral bridal laces and exaggerated trims. As one of our favourite designers, Viktor & Rolf, take on the sheer, flower-adorned sleeves, I think it’s safe to say we’re getting a real Renaissance vibe and we love it!!

Trend: Pastels and Jewel Colours

Designer: Reem Acra

Have you ever thought of having a baby blue bridal gown? Well for all you non-traditional brides out there, we’re super excited by this new Autumn 2019 trend; pastel wedding dresses! Whilst blush and baby pink gowns have slowly made their way into the bridal world over the past few years, this time it’s all about pastel blue, pale greens, lavender and jewel tone accents. We can expect to see the darker jewel tone hues carried across to the embroidery and applique detailing of the gown.

Trend: Simple Second Dress

Designer: Jenny Packham

Have you dreamed of an extravagant bridal gown? But you love to dance and don’t know how on earth you’ll break-dance in that gorgeous mermaid style dress? Well, Autumn 2019 is all about that simple second dress! Inspired by Meghan Markle’s plain yet elegant Givenchy gown, we cannot wait to get on board this trend. Expect to see minimal silhouettes with clean finishing’s, subtle bridal laces and flowy sleeves and sheer overlays so you can dance the night away. A well-designed dress or jumpsuit with the right fabric is all you need! In this case less in more!!

Trend: Crop Tops and Skirts

Photographer: Phillip van Nostrand

Are you having a more low-key wedding or perhaps you’re having a destination wedding on a beautiful warm island? Well for all you ladies, you’ll be happy to know the ‘Two-Piece’ bridal gown is back on trend! Get ready to bear those midriffs again, because the crop is back! Expect to see a sleek top with a simple lace skirt and sheer tulle overlay which adds a contemporary allure to the look.

Trend: Feathers

Designer: Zuhair Murad

Fall 2019 is all about experimenting and straying away from your traditional bridal laces. Instead, we can see a vast range of reputable bridal Designers experiment with feathers galore! Commonly used on the hem of your bridal gown and as a feature along your veil or cape. We are loving the contrast between the luxurious silk sateen fabrics and the more textured, soft and fluffy feather look. It’s frisky and fun and we’re all for it!

Ms Zebra Says: I’m so excited to see some of these trends come to fruition! There’s so many options and going with tradition is slowly being compromised for a little bit of fun.
