Katie & Cameron

We’re always a fan of making a decision and committing to it and for Katie and Cam, they planned their beautiful garden party wedding in just five months! This one? It’s a feast for the senses. From Katie’s breathtaking glittering wedding gown, the endless rolling hills of their venue and the utter joy they clearly felt in each and every moment. Luckily for us, Cloud Catcher Studio was there to capture it all (including that to die for golden sunset!). It was a blissful blend of family and fun for these two, kind of like how they met – at a bar, which in itself wasn’t special, but for the fact that five of Cam’s own aunts and uncles also locked eyes at the very same venue. That same sense of synchronicity, of magic translated into a very special wedding day.

Katie and Cam chose the beautiful Fins Plantation House for their day, telling “We fell in love from the moment we drove in and then fell deeper and deeper the more we spoke to the team.

The staff were amazing and the food was out of this world. People are still talking about the food and how their wine glass was never empty.

Morgan and Snowy made the process extremely simple and stress-free, nothing was an issue and everything went perfectly. I knew we were going to have an incredible day, but I never expected the level of magic they created.”

Cam and his groomsmen Dan wore suits from MJ Bale with OTAA bow ties.

The newlyweds had seen Paul McCartney perform the weekend they got engaged, so chose his version of “Here Comes The Sun” for Katie’s walk down the aisle.

Katie and Cam were lucky enough to be married by a family member – Dudly!  “We had a priest do our ceremony, Dudly. He was great! He is Katie’s Uncle’s Brother and had married Katie’s Mum and Dad, 4 of her Auntys and a few of her Cousins.”

Katie lucked out by finding an amazing metallic Ginger & Smart gown for her wedding day, sharing “As we were only engaged for 5 months I really struggled to find a dress from a traditional bridal retailer or to get one made. Everyone I talked to was booked out.

My favourite shop in Yamba, Belinda’s Store showed me a picture of the dress and I fell in love with it. The only issue was it only was released 6 weeks before the wedding and Ginger and Smart were only releasing it to a select few shops. The day it was released I flew to Melbourne tried it on and purchased it.”

Of their photographer, Katie and Cam could not be happier. “Cloud Catcher Studio was incredible.  I love how they have captured our day. It was even better on Sunday when we got a sneak peek. We were at our recovery and everyone was looking at them we loved sharing them with everyone so quickly as well.”

Guests gathered for a sit-down reception in the dining room, the area dotted with plenty of fresh flowers, and decor designed by Katie. “The theme of our wedding was a long lunch garden party. It was a really relaxed and fun day that went all day and into the early hours of the morning.”

The bride arranged the beautiful blooms herself, telling “I did my own flowers with the help of my mum, sister, aunty and very good friend Holly. We did them in the afternoon before the wedding and it was great fun. The flowers I purchased from the markets and were perfect. As it was autumn the flower choice was quite restricted, however, I don’t think you can go wrong with beautiful fresh flowers.

I fell in love with vases which I still have and it’s such beautiful reminder overtime I use them, of our wedding day. The orchids were incredible and I knew as soon as I saw them that it had to be them. They were over the top and incredibly simple.”

The speeches and reception shenanigans were a definite highlight for Katie and Cam, including the funny pranks that got played! They tell “Katie’s Dad doesn’t like craft beer and only likes an XXXX or crown larger. Our MC played a trick on him just before his speech and had a craft beer and a crown lager (which we had to order especially for him). He was asked to pick which beer was the Crown Lager and got it wrong. The photos of this moment are priceless. His face says it all. ”

Guests delighted in gelato and espresso martinis to keep their energy high for plenty of dancing.

A big congratulations to you both Katie and Cam! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us. Thank you all to  Cloud Catcher Studio for today’s beautiful wedding day.
