Happy Monday Dotties! We have giant cups of coffee beside us and we’re so ready to get this week started!
Autumn: how wonderful is this cooler weather? Time to start thinking about cool weather options for your venue, the feast you’ll serve and even drinks – hot chocolate anyone? Our Polka Dot Directory is filled with all sorts of vendors who are so good at what they do, whatever the season! We have Styling & Hire, we have Cakes, we have Transport and Bridal Gowns – we even have Hair & Beauty and Photographers! Consider which vendors are the most important to you and book them first.
Check out the Polka Dot Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!
If you’ve not yet considered anything in your life to be important enough to deserve professional photography, your wedding day is one occasion where having a good photographer (not Uncle Joe who hasn’t lifted his camera out of its case since 2001) is of the utmost importance. Kevin Lue Photography is one of those photographers you can trust to deliver the highest quality images that are real, and reflect the quirks and subtleties that make us all unique and special. His professionalism means that the images of your day will really be ‘you’ and you’ll love poring over them time and again to relive the joy of your day.
We asked Kevin at Kevin Lue Photography five questions in five minutes:
What is the most important piece of advice you can give to engaged couples?
Organising a wedding can be confusing, time-consuming, mentally and physically exhausting! Nail the venue for the ceremony and the reception and then book the photographer early! I think those are the most important pillars and once they are booked the rest will follow naturally. Find a photographer you can click with. You won’t want someone you can’t be yourself with and of course someone that has creative flair. Most packages can be tailored so don’t be afraid to ask questions or talk things through if the packages are not 100% the way you intend them to be.
Tell us about a hidden talent you have?
That’s a hard one, I don’t usually hide my talents behind closed doors but other than photography I like drawing with a pencil and do sketches. I like to cook also!
As a vendor, what excites you about the wedding day?
Moments, moments, moments! Simple relaxed weddings with “Kodak moments” are the best. Of course, then there’s the actual love story itself.
What are you known for?
Good old story telling with the basic formula – relaxed and candid. I’m also easy going and clients usually get warmed up fairly quickly.
If you could choose a song to play for the rest of your life what would it be?
Imagine hearing the one song for the rest of your life. Not sure if that’s a wonderful thing or torturous. But probably ‘Stairway to Heaven’ because heaven can be misheard for ‘Kevin’ – as my colleagues always now substitute the word ‘heaven’ with ‘Kevin’ whenever they play the song; it’s now part of the lyrics! Also, it’s an all-time classic.
