Emily & Clint

Could there be any better way to spend a Wednesday than with our feet in the sand, the sea breeze in our hair and a pineapple cocktail in hand? I think not! That sense of holiday bliss was exactly what encouraged Emily and Clint to celebrate their nuptials with an intimate Queensland destination wedding. Thanks to Peppermint Photography we’re sharing every last detail with you today.

A beautiful location has been a theme throughout the journey of these two – they were even engaged on holiday! Emily fills us in. “In 2017 we travelled to Chile, and on day two of the trip, we were sightseeing in the Atacama Desert. Clint waited for the sun to rise over the Andes Mountains and then got down on bended knee. It was so perfect, but with the heightened emotions and the extremely high altitude, nausea set in and I was quite literally sick immediately after!”

The bride found her Alex Perry ballgown with the help of her sister, sharing, “I had just gotten engaged and hadn’t started properly looking for a dress yet, but I knew I wanted something modern and simple. While on a girls’ shopping trip, my sister spotted a beautiful Alex Perry gown and begged me to try it on. It was an unexpected find that day but exactly what I had in mind, richly textured fabric with a clean, elegant shape.”

“As it was a smaller sized wedding we didn’t have a traditional bridal party. In saying this, I am the last of five sisters to get married and I was a bridesmaid for each one of their weddings, so it was only fair that they were my unofficial bridesmaids. I’m so grateful as they helped so much in coordinating the wedding day,” tells the bride.

Emily and Clint met before their ceremony for a first look with photographer Amanda, noting, “The stress of the wedding day was forgotten as our photographer, Amanda, was so calming and confidently directed the photos. She did an amazing job capturing the incredible location, the wedding details, our family interactions and personal moments between us as a couple. We look at the photos and memories of the day come flooding back.”

Emily and Clint found the private home for their wedding through Executive Retreats. “We wanted to give our guests a chance to take a holiday, so we knew a destination wedding was in order. A month after we got engaged, we flew up to North Queensland to scope out the venue options and decided on the stunning private and quiet Newell Beach. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the same private beachfront property.”

“My grandfather walked me down the aisle while my sister sang ‘Dream a little Dream of Me’, and my brother-in-law accompanied her on the ukulele,” remembers Emily.

The couple were married under a tropical arch in front of the beach. “Our favourite wedding detail was probably the wedding arch. With orchids, roses and tropical greens, it was perfectly framed between the giant palm trees overlooking the beach. We’re pretty sure it was a favourite of our guests too, with almost everyone taking a photo under it.”

Emily and Clint chose Nine Blooms to create the tropical-inspired floral details for their day. “I love tropical greenery, especially palm fronds, and wanted to keep the flowers white and simple,” explains Emily. “The floral theme of tropical leaves, white orchids with roses ran throughout the wedding including my bouquet, the table runners, cake table, décor and wedding arch.”

Congratulations on your marriage Emily and Clint! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us. Thank you also to Peppermint Photography for sharing today’s wedding.
