Rhiannon & Isaac

Stumbling across the venue on a weekend adventure, Rhiannon and Isaac planned their intimate and vintage inspired wedding in the gorgeous outdoors. With forest trees sheltering the guests and fallen leaves underfoot, the bride and groom said their vows with rustic charm all around! The Road West captured the day.

Having met at a local pub and wooing each other with drinks and expert dance moves, Rhiannon and Isaac became a couple. The bride shares of the proposal, ”We went on a camping road trip up to Exmouth, where we stopped at the pink lake just outside of Kalbarri and Isaac proposed on the shore. I was definitely not expecting the proposal but said yes as soon as I stopped crying!”

The bride wore a Grace Loves Lace gown with long sleeves. She remembers, ‘It was always going to be Grace Loves Lace, it was just a matter of which dress I chose! We decided In October to have our wedding in December so it was excellent that I could purchase the dress off the rack, pre made! This meant I was ordering the dress online without trying it on which was a huge leap of faith but luckily I loved it when the dress arrived!” The groom wore an outfit from Ed Harry.

The ceremony was a very intimate affair, laid out on a carpet of leaves underneath giant trees. The bride tells, ”It was a very small and casual ceremony with just 15 guests (our immediate family). The ceremony was all about the weeping elm tree it was held under. We changed to that location a few hours before the ceremony started! Readings included ‘I Carry Your Heart’ by E.E Cummings.” The bride walked down the aisle with her two nephews to ‘How Long Will I Love You’ by Ellie Goulding.

Thrilled with photographer The Road West and their work, the bride says, ”Cedric was amazing and I love all the photos! The first one I had printed was the two of us holding hands in front of the barn.” Some of the newlyweds favourite moments include that, ”It was intimately shared between our closest family, we got to announce to the world that we were married after the event, the venue is somewhere we can visit again and again as our family grows, and that the owner of the property was married under the same tree and had recently lost her husband, so she went above and beyond to make our day special.”

Including details that meant a lot to the couple, they made sure to include their favourite transport. Sharing, ”We included our 1967 HR Holden in the day, and my dad drove me from the room we were staying in across to the ceremony and the car was featured in the photos.”

Planning the wedding in a short space of time, the bride and groom knew they were after a relaxed day. They share, ”We wanted very low key as the wedding was planned in less than 8 weeks! We handpicked the wine as it was important to have local wines from places we loved to visit together. The big table with everyone sitting where they wanted and facing each other was just wonderful, our families were able to connect which we loved.”

Ford House made the day incredibly special for Rhiannon and Isaac. They share, ”The venue was excellent, they threw their heart and soul into making our day special.” And of their first dance together as a married couple, the newlyweds say, ”We didn’t really have one as we just planned a sit down meal after the ceremony and drinks in the garden, but our family got us up to dance to ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder.”

Thank you to our gorgeous bride and groom for sharing your beautiful wedding with us, congratulations! Thank you also to The Road West for your photographs!

As mother of the bride I can say it was the perfect day for a quiet intimate wedding! Perfect venue, so co-operative, warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The owner and her lovely staff are amazing. As a mum of 3 daughters who are all married in 3 quite different styles, this day was wonderful because it was everything Rhiannon and Isaac wanted!
