We love nothing more than discovering a new designer, especially when their gowns and creations are as breathtaking as those of Israel fashion designer Alon Livné. Alon, who trained and honed his skills in Europe (including at Alexander McQueen in London and Roberto Cavalli in Florence) began his own namesake brand in 2010 and quickly came into his own.

His gowns, which beautifully blend their own unique style with utter glamour are brought to life in his Spring-Summer 2020 “Rêverie” collection, inspired by one of the first solo piano compositions of Claude Debussy from 1890.

The piece, just as the gowns, starts with “soft and comforting sounds” and progresses to beautiful harmony. The inspiration evident in both the gowns that speak of chic, minimal lines, and the decadent lace pieces. The hand-beaded fabrics, the carefully considered sewing techniques each adding layer on layer of texture and beauty.

There is something for every lover of glam in this collection – chic off the shoulder gowns, amazing trumpet sleeves, feminine ruffles, dramatic bodices, sheer, fluttery sleeves and to die for applique. It’s a collection that stops the show with every single movement. With drama that deserves it’s own walk down the aisle.

Alon Livné is available in Australia at Helen Rodrigues.
