Laura & Jamie

We love engagement imagery that is simply no fuss because it can often get to the real heart of who a couple is. For us, engagements are always a firm reminder of the core of what we do. telling beautiful love stories. Laura and Jamie chose Stone & Wool Photography and headed to the beautiful woodland forests of the Sunshine Coast, for a session that spoke of their love for one another, pure and simple.

Although Laura and Jamie met at high school, their connection didn’t blossom for some years – they fill us in. “We actually went to the same High School, a couple of years apart, but never really crossed paths until we met and connected at a mutual friend’s 21st Birthday party a few years later. Jamie was very confident – introducing himself to Laura’s Mum and asking her permission to date Laura (without Laura’s knowledge…)
After a couple of weeks, we were very sure of each other and made that all-important step to make it ‘Facebook official’.”

It was in Japan that Jamie popped the question. “While skiing in Japan, Jamie suggested we head straight to the top of Tsugaike in Hakuba to get ‘some awesome photos over the valley’. By the time we reached the top of the Gondola, clouds had covered the valley and ruined the photo op. We went off skiing & boarding all day, waiting for the clouds to clear and on the last run the clouds cleared so Jamie rushed us up to the top for the photo op. After a few selfies and while Laura’s back was turned, Jamie dropped to his knee in a foot of powdery snow to propose.”

And of course, with any relationships there are shared jokes and quirks, for these two, it’s all about road trips and Laura sleeping! The pair explaining “Jamie has basically curated an entire album of photos of Laura sleeping while we’re on road trips. Laura’s a little worried the album might make an appearance at the wedding”

On what he loves about Laura, Jamie shares ” I love that Laura supports me through my endeavours whether that be sporting, work or general life. She is always there for me during my tough times to pick me back up. She is my best friend and I love spending my time with her. I feel really special when she looks at me the way she does.”

“He is caring and confident! ” tells Laura of her love for Jamie. “He always makes time to check on those close to him and help out wherever needed. Always bringing smiles to everyone’s faces and reminding them they are loved and supported. He makes me feel like the most important person in the world.”
