Maddy & Jacob

It was a stunning day in the country when high school sweethearts Maddy and Jacob tied the knot. It was a long time coming for these two, who met on the very first day of high school. Their day, filled with the most stunning of details, took on a palette of blush and nude pinks, champagne and earthy tones as the pair wed at the brand new stables at much loved Southern Highlands venue Bendooley Estate. There is something about a neutral colour palette that speaks of romance, combined with Maddy’s dreamy off the shoulder gown, it was a wedding that honoured it’s own country setting.

Inviting Sarah Kennedy Photography along, meant these two had every beautiful moment captured as their day unfolded.

And just like the wedding, the proposal? Also utterly romantic. Maddy fills us in “Jake proposed to me inside the farm cottage on our acreage in Jervis Bay on a rainy evening.”

Maddy chose a romantic, off the shoulder gown designed by Madi Lan from Luv Bridal. “The gown is described as the ultimate garden wedding gown – a creature of sheer romance, Elora embodies the natural world through the use of a floral motif that adorns almost every inch of the bodice and hides among the many layers of the tulle skirt. With the addition of soft off-shoulder straps, Elora is finished with a leafy sweetheart neckline that descends into a slightly lowered back. I chose the gown as it fits the romantic garden setting we were married in.”

Maddy and Jacob were married at the Southern Highland’s beautiful Bendooley Estate.

Maddy walked down the aisle with her father to Lifehouse’s “You and Me”.

Maddy and Jacob chose Married By Todd to officiate their ceremony. “Todd Mayhew from “Married by Todd” was our exceptional celebrant. From our hometown of Jervis Bay, Todd is a one of a kind human. Complete with a killer moustache and seventies attire to match, Todd offers a relaxed, ‘good vibes only’ feel to wedding ceremonies. He is funny, witty and charming. Todd is guaranteed to impress.”

Of their ceremony, Maddy shares “It was a short and sweet affair with a beautiful welcome to country before commencing the vows. Surrounded by family and friends, the ceremony was the ideal way for us to become husband and wife.”

Beautiful blooms of pink roses, white hydrangeas and dried foliage were styled by Ivy Lane Collective. Maddy remarking ” “Ivy Lane Collective of the South Coast created the stunning floral arrangements.
Complete with a half moon floor piece, draped chandeliers and fabulous table pieces, the venue was made complete with the neutral colours and dried leaves of the arrangements.
The bouquets were the epitome of class and elegance with pampas, stunning whites and dried grasses.”

“The Photographer was the AMAZING Sarah Kennedy from the South Coast. Sarah was everything we had hoped for and more” raves Maddy. “She fit in with the entire bridal party, making us laugh and enjoy our session. Her skills are unbelievable. She sent us an early snapshot of our day in the day following and we had received the full edited portfolio back within a few weeks. 10/10”

Maddy and Jacob included their very favourite people in their wedding party -brothers, sister in laws and best friends.

The Stables were set with long tables and arrangements of dried blooms to accompany fresh flowers. The scene set for a grand evening reception. “The florals were absolutely amazing!” remembers Maddy.

The romance didn’t stop as the sun set, Maddy and Jacob taking to the dance floor for their first dance “The first dance was held under a chandelier on the beautiful polished concrete floor of the venue between the stunning leather lined bar and the rows of guest seating. “I’m with you” by the wonderful Vance Joy was the song for the first dance” shares Maddy.

Congratulations on such a beautiful start to your marriage Maddy and Jacob! Thank you for sharing your special day and thank you to Sarah Kennedy Photography for today’s stunning images!
