Polly & Christos

For us, a sentimental detail, woven throughout a wedding day is one of our favourite things. For Polly and Christos, it was the presence of dahlias and hydrangea, blooms which featured heavily in the first bouquet Christos ever bought Polly, which wove their way throughout their beautiful day. Even the date was sentimental – the pair choosing Christos’ grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary to tie the knot.

Birch & Wattle Photography were the masters behind the imagery in today’s wedding, held at one of our favourite Sydney views for killer views – the beautiful Gunners’ Barracks.

As for how these two met? A casual office romance, turned into “the worst kept secret” when it turned out to be so much more than casual! It’s fitting, then, that Polly describes the vibe of their wedding day as “casual romance”.

The groom and groomsmen wore suits from  Saba Politix. Polly surprising Christos on the day with “The Office” themed socks in honour of the groom’s favourite TV show.

“I was scrolling through Instagram and saw my dress” tells Polly of her gown, designed by Made With Love. “I knew immediately it was the one. It was the only dress I tried on.” Polly finished her look with her grandmother’s ring – her something old, something borrowed and something blue.

Polly and Christos chose the beautiful Gunners’ Barracks for both their ceremony and reception. “We love the historical elegance of the building” shares the bride, continuing “Gunners Barracks were amazing, they coordinated with all our vendors so there was nothing we needed to think about on the day.”

The bride walked down the aisle with her parents to Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah” performed live by Yeah Nah Yeah.

“We chose Birch and Wattle,” tell Polly and Christos of their wedding photographers. “Both Yana and Pavel were amazing and captured all the special moments perfectly.”

Polly and Christos worked with Biophilia Blooms to create their colourful floral arrangements, a special nod to their history, Polly explains “The first bouquet Christos gave me was Hydrangeas and Dahlias. There were our flowers of choice and will always be “our flowers”.

“The heartfelt speeches that had me in tears” remembers Polly, the speeches her highlight of the night.

“We danced to “Into You” by Tamia” tell Polly & Chris of their first dance. “We spent hours practising as I have two left feet. Luckily I didn’t step on Christos’ toes on the night.”

A big congratulations to you both Polly and Christos! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! Thank you also to Birch & Wattle Photography for all of the beautiful imagery!
