A hop skip and a 25-minute drive from Canberra, is Grazing At Gundaroo. The country venue offering up the best of both worlds – privacy, a gorgeous garden setting and all the charm of a farm. Plus once you’ve said your vows, you and your guests can enjoy an amazing reception, complete with the decadent menu at the onsite award-winning restaurant or historic stone room. The beautiful Old Parliament House Gardens, specifically the rose garden is just the ticket for a gorgeous garden wedding day. The venue is filled with pergolas, seating pavilions, beautifully manicured flower beds, trellises and plenty of open lawn. Think a garden party style wedding, or style your vows, because the backdrop is beautiful enough for anything you dream up! At the name suggests, Elm Grove Canberra is all about the spectacular elm trees of the property. The dappled shade and majestic beauty of them provides a stunning garden setting for your nuptials. Plus, you can even set up a marquee for your reception (or our preference) dine under the stars for an outdoor reception.

Gorman House Arts Centre offers up a beautiful internal courtyard for weddings. It’s focal point, and a beautiful backdrop for wedding ceremonies is the Hawthorn tree, which it’s said, in Celtic mythology is a symbol of love and protection. With that in mind, we’re pretty sure it’s a glorious wedding ceremony spot.
Australian National Botanic Gardens
With eight different garden settings to tie the knot, you’re definitely going to find a spot to love at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Brittle Gum Lawn (pictured) is one of my favourites, while the additional seven venues range from a lawn amphitheatre setting at Burbridge Amphitheatre and the dramatic red soil of the Red Earth Centre.

Formerly Redbrow Gardens, the country estate of All Day Every Day Guesthouse brings together a gorgeous garden setting, and the peacefulness of its little country setting and sprawling, beautiful gardens. You can stay onsite overnight and there’s space for your reception. So consider this one for an enhancing, secret garden kind of space, with plenty of trees for your fairy light dreams.

A favourite wedding venue of many (especially in Autumn), Poachers Pantry stands out with its enormous elm tree that is just the spot for a garden wedding ceremony. A stunning space full of history, Lanyon Homestead is filled with stories. There are stunning gardens available for wedding ceremonies, many of which use the homestead as their backdrop. It’s also a little hop over to make the most of the country setting for wedding portraits, giving you the best of both.

30 minutes out of Canberra sits The Old Stone House. Built-in 1861, and now a sweet boutique hotel, the house has plenty of historic charm and utterly stunning gardens. The combination of which is a stunner of a wedding venue.

Plenty of county charm at the beautiful Tuggeranong Homestead. The country homestead offering 70 acres of countryside, and beautiful gardens for your wedding. With somewhat of a hidden urban garden vibe, Hotel Kurrajong offers up a gorgeous courtyard garden, complete with trees and grass, fit for a wedding ceremony. With onsite function space for your reception as well as an onsite hotel, it has plenty of bells and whistles to allow the team to do the thinking for you.
If you want a venue that is simple if you have a tiny guest list (think under ten guests) and you want something personal, then the beautiful Heart Garden needs to be on your list. It’s the personal garden of celebrant Michele Bolitho, and is inspired, by well, love. It’s a beautiful option for micro-weddings who still want all that garden wedding charm.
