Amber & Jesse

Celebrating in relaxed style, Amber and Jesse threw their guests an outdoor park wedding, complete with the grazing table of our dreams and friendly chickens! With many DIY touches from beloved family and friends, it was a family friendly day with a double portion of celebration! Rolan John Photo captured the day.

Amber and Jesse met 11 years ago, when mutual friends introduced them. On their 10 year anniversary, the groom proposed with a ring of his own, before the bride chose her own at a later date. The couple shared the wonderful news that they were expecting a baby during the day!

Family friendly and beautiful in equal measure, CERES Community Park was the perfect venue for Amber and Jesse. They share, ”We wanted the ceremony and reception in the same place. I always pictured getting married under some big trees and we found the perfect spot at CERES! We also love that is has a community and sustainable focus.”

The bride wore Birkenstock sandals and Malaforma earrings, to accessorise her Miss Bella Bridal gown. She tells, ”I found out I was pregnant a few days before I first tried on dresses. I left it a bit late (9 or so weeks before the wedding) so I had to pick something off the rack that could accommodate a growing belly. My best friend choose a dress with a lace cap sleeve for me to try on and it was perfect. I loved it from the moment I put it on. The dress was a bit small so the seamstress removed the zip and added a keyhole back. It was comfortable and fitted my baby bump beautifully. I had been really sick with morning sickness but felt great on our wedding day!” The groom wore a dark blue suit and white shirt from Asos.

Married beneath large eucalyptus trees and in front of a hessian and lace garland, the couple had 5 flower girls, including their daughter, walk with them down the aisle. They remember, ”We chose our celebrant Kim McClelland because her style of ceremony was heartfelt. I wanted something short but also wanted to share our love for each other in a simple and meaningful way. We didn’t have any readings. Jesse and I wrote our our own vows and what Kim said was a surprise on the day! She nailed it.” The bride and groom arrived together, and walked down the aisle to ‘Do You Realise’ by the Flaming Lips.

The bride’s brother was creatively involved in the day, making the garland that framed the ceremony and designing the invitations. The flowers were also put together by family, Amber telling, ”My sister in law and her mum picked them from her property and arranged the flowers a few days before the wedding. Simple natives and eucalyptus with a hessian wrap. I loved them!”

Capturing the relaxed country day was Rolan John Photo. The newlyweds share, ”He was a dream photographer. He was very relaxed and fitted in perfectly with our guests. I loved his approach to documenting our day, as it happens and in the moment.”

Gorgeously styled, Amber and Jesse’s day came together with the help of many very talented and willing hands. They remember, ”We did a lot ourselves and also had many beautiful family members and friends help out. I did the dried flower arrangements, my beautiful girlfriend did the grazing table and cake, Jesse’s best mate screen printed tea towels as our gift to guests. My brothers speech was lovely and the rest of the day we spent mingling with our family and friends eating pizza and drinking cocktails (mocktails for me!).”

Serving pizza and cocktails sounds like the perfect way to spoil your friends and family! Amber and Jesse were thrilled with both vendors, sharing, ”We can not recommend them enough. The delicious wood fired pizza from Pizza Wagon, all our guests raved about them! And the espresso martinis from Tom Collins Caravan Bar were a favourite with our guests.”

Thank you to our bride and groom for sharing your beautiful wedding day, and congratulations! Thank you also to Rolan John Photo for your stunning photos!
