How lucky we were to sit down with men’s fashion label Johnny Bigg and chat about their new Summer Campaign inspired by the tropics. The Johnny Bigg’s brand is stylish, bold and best of all, it’s not afraid to have a little fun. Grooms come in all shapes and sizes and Johnny Bigg has got the big guys covered.

What is Johnny Bigg’s story?
Established in 2014, Johnny Bigg was created with the big and tall guy in mind. Recognising their customers’ desire to be well dressed and comfortable, Johnny Bigg provides an on-trend one stop shop, easy to wear apparel and footwear for the everyday guy, never compromising on quality, style or fit.

With 60+ stores open across both Australia and New Zealand, Johnny Bigg is the first and only brand of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Johnny Bigg offers specialised sizing from XL to 9XL, waist sizes from 36”- 54”, extra-long fits for taller men and shoe sizes from 9 to 16.

What is the inspiration behind the collection?
The inspiration behind the Summer 2019 Collection is the ultimate tropical destination, a place where vibrancy and relaxation coexist. This collection features bright whites and bold colours paired with the essential neutrals that belong in every man’s wardrobe.

This collection caters to every type of Johnny Bigg guy, with patterns suited to the adventurous and the subdued. The brand wanted a collection that the everyday guy could see himself in – bringing style and comfort to every occasion.

What makes this collection special?
This season we’ve really listened to our customers and their concerns. The Johnny Bigg guy often dreads the arrival of the warmer weather, clothes never fit right and tend to sit heavy and cumbersome on the big and tall man.

However, Johnny Bigg has ensured this collection features light, breathable fabrics in a wide range of linen AND linen blend pieces. The brand wishes to ensure the Johnny Bigg guy stays comfortable this summer whilst refusing to compromise on style, with a bright, vibrant colour palette grounded in earthy, neutral tones.

What do you think grooms should consider for Spring/Summer styles?
Johnny Bigg is all about individual style. You don’t need to stick to the traditional black and white three-piece suit. Spring and Summer is the perfect excuse to incorporate a bit of colour into your wedding day look. Be bold in a coloured jacket, our Pink Perry Linen Blazer for example or present your personality in a more subtle way with a patterned bow tie, tie or pocket square.

What would your advice be to a groom planning his special day outfit?
We believe comfort to be key, whether it’s in your everyday style or for your big day. You want to look back on your day and remember not only how good you looked but how good you felt – and you can’t do that with ill fitting, stiff and unbreathable clothing. Confidence comes from comfort!
