Conor & Tim

It was a day, that bride Conor remembers as “a winter woodland wonderland. Black tie dress code but a wild party!” and with its moody jewel tones, incredible blooms, sparkling, fairy-lit reception and a golden winter sunset (captured beautifully by Cloud Catcher Studio) it’s a day that is jaw-droppingly beautiful from beginning to end. Couple it with their stories from this bride and groom, and well, we know you’re going to love this one.

It was with a solid foundation of friendship that these two fell in love, the pair sharing “We were friends first for years. It wasn’t until a trip overseas with a big group of friends that we got to know each other better. When Conor came back from overseas she started working for the same company as Tim, we became closer, and then the rest is history!”

And just like their wedding day, which was beautiful, but cosy, Tim popped the question during a dinner at home. “Tim proposed on a Saturday night at home after cooking a delicious pasta and enjoying a nice bottle of red . Very intimate and relaxed and exactly what Conor wanted. Tim had a speech prepared that he nervously said while down on one knee to which Conor later admitted she wasn’t even listening to as she couldn’t stop staring at her ring! Lots of tears and kisses.”

Embracing a black-tie dress code, the groom and groomsmen donned tuxedos from Black Jacket Suiting.

The bride’s stunning gown? A custom creation by Brisbane designer George Wu. Conor explains ” I always knew I wanted something unique rather than off the rack. It was so fun watching the design come to life! George made it happen for me in 5 months! He’s a superstar who will listen to your ideas rather than just do what he wants.”

The bride walked down the aisle with her father to The Beatles “Here Comes The Sun”.

It was important to Conor and Tim that their ceremony really honoured the vows they were making, so they enlisted Carly Slade Weddings to help make it happen. “Our ceremony was a perfect mixture of laughs and sentiment. We’d been to so many weddings where the ceremony felt rushed, so we wanted something that told our story (but nothing too long) and made everyone stop and reflect with us. Our celebrant, Carly Slade, was classy and classic, and threw in her own twists, like asking us to send her words about each other to which she spoke on the day – we both had no idea what each had written so it was definitely a tear-jerking moment! Instead of a reading, we had one of our groomsmen, Kurt write us a poem which was both funny and heartwarming.”

Conor and Tim chose the one venue – Fins Plantation House, for their day. “The venue hosted the ceremony, then a garden party then the dinner and reception. It was a beautiful venue with capable and caring staff. There aren’t too many venues that can handle all this so seamlessly.”

The stunning jewel-toned colour palette was all Conor’s idea, The French Petal creating beautiful floral details to match! The bride remarking ” I love a moody colour palette. The brief was lots of pinks, reds, purple, a touch of white with berries and some greenery. I asked for my bouquet to be much more structured than the girls who had more greenery.”

Conor and Tim could not have loved their photographers more. “They rocked! The girls at Cloud Catcher made us feel relaxed. They don’t do staged tacky photos, they just go with you all day and let the photos tell the story. It was exactly what we wanted. They even got right in the mix on the dance floor even though they were getting rinsed with espresso martinis!”

The couple remembers the presence of their guests as once of their favourite parts of the day. “We loved all our friends and family coming together for us – you really underestimate how that’s going to feel until it happens. It’s magic.”

The newlyweds took to the dance floor for their debut, to their band Franky Smart playing Coldplay’s “A Sky Full Of Stars” Conor remembering “It was cool because our band performed it and it started slowly with just us dancing, then when chorus hit our bridal party all jumped in and danced. Then it was party on and suddenly the dance floor was heaving, and it stayed that way all night! We’ve both never been to a wedding where it was quite that level. Everyone planned for a big night and we were so grateful they gave it their all. We’ll never forget that feeling.”

And because we can’t get enough of these two, we had to include their beautifully shot wedding film, coming to you from the crew at Gold Bear Wedding Films.

A big congratulations Conor and Tim! Thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding day with us! Thanks, also to Cloud Catcher Studio for today’s stunning images!
