Liz & Paul

We will never tire of a beautiful engagement stories. Engagements are magical. They’re stories of love, but they’re also stories of hope. Of dreaming of a life together, of all the adventure yet to unfold. We’re so delighted to share the stunning Blue Mountains engagement of Liz and Paul with you today.

The Blue Mountains are amazing by themselves, but take them at sunset? Breathtaking. Liz and Paul enlisted photographer Barefoot & Bearded to join them as they began the next chapter of their story, and the result? Such a worthy story to tell!

It seems only right, that we kick off today’s post with the story of how Liz and Paul came to be, in their words “We met on the first day of orientation at university through a mutual friend when I first noticed Liz’s beaming smile. We became great friends and our feelings for each other grew from there.”

“I love Liz because she is my rock. She has a beautiful smile that can instantly lift my mood” tells Paul when asked what he loves about his future wife. “Her patience and ease at which she can shine a positive light on any situation has enabled me to grow as a person. I love that she cares about the strength of our relationship and how much quality time we spend together over making sure the dishes are done and the clothes are folded. She has a brilliant mind and helps care of sick people, and we share a love of travel and making memories abroad.”

It was while on holiday in Iceland that Paul popped the question, he reminisces “We were on the back end of an epic European adventure, camping and road tripping around Iceland. After a massive day of hiking and driving across the beautiful and outer-worldly terrain, we came to Jökulsárlón, a breathtakingly spectacular glacial lagoon. It was on the black sand beach adjacent to the lagoon that I gave Liz a warming hug and sneaked the ring from pocket to hand and as we separated I asked Liz to marry me on bended knee. After a moment of pure surprise, she said yes!”
