When we first talked about food trucks back in 2013, they were novel, and barely any existed. But nowadays? Every State has so many amazing food trucks and food carts to cater your wedding. Today, thanks to a month of all things food for The Feast Issue? We’re talking Tasmanian food trucks. We’ve got caterers who honour local Tasmanian produce, coffee carts (just right for cold winter weddings if you ask us) and everything in between.
We’re a big fan of having a food truck complement more traditional catering too – think a midnight appearance by a van with sour cream-laden potatoes and ice cream, or a post-ceremony drink!
Wattlebanks Catering offers up restaurant-quality dishes, focused on locally sourced produce – from their food truck. Think local Tassie oysters, Tasmanian salmon blinis, Tasmania fish & chips and even Tasmanian braised lamb. See their wedding service here.
We love the idea of this next truck, Tangaroa Kai Strictly Seafood serves up fresh seafood delights – like amazing fish and chips!
Piping hot doughnuts is the name of the game for Little Devil Donuts. This travelling doughnut van serves up doughnut delights with flavoured (think salted caramel or chocolate) dipping sauces for your guests. Their machine can produce a whopping 1200 doughnuts an hour! Meet them here.

Pork belly, tender beef, crispy chicken – the bao options from food truck Chan Bao Food Van are endless and delicious. This food truck focuses on Taiwanese style bao and it does it well (but they also serve buffalo wings and popcorn chicken so your guests get a rounded meal!)
I’ve got a craving for poutine and Big Henrys Food Truck is first on my list to help me out. On the menu is Philly Cheese, smashed cheeseburgers and of course that aforementioned poutine Delish! Meet them here.
Serve up Tasmania’s coffee by bringing Little Bean Coffee to your wedding. The little truck serves up delicious coffee, chai, hot chocolate and plenty of sweet treats.

For something different, Turkish Tukka dishes up delicious Turkish style cuisine. Kebabs, pide, chips, salads and plenty of treats for a delicious wedding menu and a fresh take on your standard burger fare.
I really cannot understand how a food truck serving cupcakes could ever be a bad thing, especially when it’s bright, AND hot pink like Liggabuff. This sweet van serves you delicious cupcake treats in plenty of wedding-worthy flavours.
Eat Me Happy is the most Kermit of green vans that will add a little brightness to your wedding. Serving up fan favourites like nachos, burgers and even salads. Oh, and they specialise in gluten-free catering, so if you want to serve your guests gluten-free brownies or pancakes? They can help you out!
A nautical inspired converted bus, Sailor Food Truck serves up delicious fish and chip and seafood style offerings. Think fish and chips, of course alongside salt and pepper calamari, tempura prawns, ginseng battered Tasmanian scallops and southern style buttermilk chicken burgers and sticky char-grilled ribs.
