This self-described ‘pocket-sized duo’ play soft lilting tunes with the ukelele and guitar with the most beautiful renditions of popular music and old favourites to serenade you during your wedding day. With ‘a repertoire of jazz and timeless classics, from luscious ballads to lively swing numbers and Latin grooves’ Polkadot + Moonbeam will tailor arrangements of your chosen music to your style, and are available to travel interstate and overseas. Be enchanted by the subtle sounds of your favourite songs as Juliet and Didi provide the background soundtrack to your ceremony and dinner as well as upbeat music to get your guests hitting the dance floor.

We asked Juliet and Didi of Polkadot + Moonbeam five questions in five minutes:

What is the most important piece of advice you can give to engaged couples?
Fasten your seatbelt, and enjoy the ride! (… and invest in a good videographer for your wedding – we still regret today that we didn’t have one!)

Tell us about a hidden talent you have?
Although our usual lineup is made up of acoustic bass and tenor ukulele, we sometimes engage in double ukulele jazz shredfest duels.

As a vendor, what excites you about the wedding day?
Apart from playing and singing their (the couples) lovingly hand-picked ceremony songs, their story and their first mutual glance at the altar.

What are you known for?
Being an acoustic duo that can fit in two little suitcases (or one large one).

If you could choose a song to play for the rest of your life what would it be?
‘On My Way Home to You’ by Michael Franks (1980).
